We need to be brave
Good morning everyone, I’m glad to stand here to give you a short speech. First of all, I want to ask you a question: “Have you ever missed out on something great because of fear?”
For example, you may miss the boys or girls who melted your heart because you afraid to express love to him or her. Some people may miss a new experience in life, others may miss a great chance to show them off. But to me, I missed a good opportunity to get into a better university.
Before the college entrance examination, I have a chance to take part in some school’s assessment which can help me increase the chances to get in it. But firstly, I need to through a school interview.
So I was afraid, I afraid I can’t pass the interview, and I also think I will be very nervous when I talk to some strangers alone. So, I give up the chance. In the end, I didn’t get into that school successfully. I was really regret, but there is no turning back.
Several days ago, I watched a film called “the princess diary”. It tells a story about an ordinary girl called Mia who lived with her mother since childhood and she never knew who her father was. Mia was a shy girl and often ignored by her classmates. When she was 16 years old, she was suddenly informed her father was a prince in a small country and she will be a princess and run the country instead of her grandmother. She’s going crazy at first, but finally she conquered her fear and became a confident princess.
I think we need to be brave to do whatever we want. Brave can help us become our own prince or princess.
