He said to the trees, “Will you give me a piece of hard wood ?” The tree said, “Yes, we'll give you a good piece of hard wood.” He was very glad to get a good piece of wood. He hurried home with it. At once he made a new handle of his ax. Then he went to the forest again and began to cut down all the best trees in the forest. The trees were very sad. They said to one another, “We suffer from our own foolishness.”

3.Ugly Ducking 丑小鸭

It is spring again, the ugly ducking is bigger now. He can fly higher and swim faster . There is a beautiful river and some beautiful birds there . He thinks, \me .\bird says :\quiet. Look! 3.Monkeys and the Moon in the Well 猴子捞月

One day, a little monkey is playing by the well. He looks in the well and shouts : “Oh! My god! The moon has fallen into the well! ”An older monkey runs over, takes a look, and says, “Goodness me! The moon is really in the water!” Another elderly monkey comes over. He is very surprised as well and cries out:“ The moon is in the well.” A group of monkeys run over to the well .They look at the moon in the well and shout:“The moon did fall into the well! Come on! Let's get it out!” Then, the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down, with his feet on the branch. And he pulls the next monkey’s feet with his hands. All the other monkeys follow his suit. And they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well. Just before they reach the moon, the oldest monkey raises his head and happens to see the moon in the sky, He yells excitedly “Don’t be so foolish! The moon is still in the sky!”

4.Princesses and Bunny 公主与小兔子

It is a dark and rainy night. Barbie is reading in her bed. Kelly and Stacie run in. \Barbie,\Stacie.Barbie looks around. She sees a bunny. \are two princesses named Kelly and Stacie…\

One day,the princesses go to have a picnic in the forest. Suddenly it begins to rain!The princesses take their basket and hide inside a big tree. The rain stops. A bunny hops by. \nowhere to go. 5.The Hare and the Tortoise 龟兔赛跑

A hare laughed at a tortoise for the slowness of his pace. But he wasn't angry, and said that he

would run against her and beat her some day. “ Come on , ”said the Hare, “ you will soon see what my feet are made of . ”So it was agreed that they should start at once . The tortoise went off jogging along without a moment's stopping , at his usual steady pace. he hare treated the whole matter very lightly, he slept under a big tree on the way. Tortoise plodded on and on. When the hare got to the goal , only to see that the tortoise had arrived before her, slow but before her.

2.Cinderella 灰姑娘

A rich man took another wife after his wife died. The woman brought with her two beautiful daughters. A bad time began for the poor child. She had to do hard work from morning till night, get up before daybreak, carry water, light fires, cook and wash. She had no bed. As she always looked dusty and dirty, they called her Cinderella.

One day, the king gave orders for a festival and all the beautiful young girls were invited so that his son might choose himself a bride. When the two step-sisters were delighted to go to the king's palace,Cinderella had to stay at home doing countless work.

A bird came to her and threw a gold and silver dress to her. She put on the dress and went to the party. Her step-sisters and the step-mother did not know her, and thought she must be a foreign princess, for she looked so beautiful in the golden dress. The prince approached Cinderella, took her by the hand and danced with her. He would dance with no other girls. She danced till it was evening, and then she wanted to go home. But the prince said,“I will go with you.” She escaped from him, however. She ran down, leaving a slipper. The king's son picked it up. It was small and dainty, made of gold.

The next morning, he went with it to the king, and said to him, \the girl whose foot this golden slipper fits.\

The two sisters were glad at the news, for they had pretty feet. But neither could put it on. The prince asked, “Haven't you any other daughter?” “Yes, but she cannot possibly be the bride.” her father said. The prince asked the father to bring her to him, Cinderella had to be called. She seated herself on a stool, drew her foot out of the heavy wooden shoe, and put it into the slipper, which fitted well. And when she rose up, the prince looked at her face. He recognized the beautiful girl who had danced with him and cried, \the two sisters were horrified and became pale with rage, he, however, took Cinderella on his horse and rode away with her.

3.How a Colt Crossed the River 小马过河

One day, a colt took a bag of wheat to the mill. As he was running with the bag on his back, he came to a small river. The colt could not decide whether he could cross it. Looking around, he saw a cow grazing nearby. He asked,\

The colt was crossing the river when a squirrel jumped down a tree and stopped him. The squirrel shouted, \Not knowing what to do, the colt went home to consult his mom.

A sly fox tried to trick a rooster into coming down from his house. \ \

All the three pigs were in their houses when a big bad wolf came . “Little pig, little pig, let me in” said the wolf. “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin”, said the first pig. “Then I'll just have to blow your house,” said the wolf and he blew the house away. “Little pig, little pig, let me in” said the wolf to the 2nd pig. \your house \wolf to the 3rd pig. \\\hold into the house. The wolf can't dig through so he gave up and ran away and never came back.. All the three pigs lived happily with good food in the brick house. 7.The Fox and the Tiger 狐狸和老虎

An archer, hunting in the woods, was so successful with his arrows that he killed many of the wild animals. This frightened the rest so much that they ran into the densest part of the bushes to hide. At last the Tiger stood up, pretending to be very brave, told the other animals not to be afraid anymore, but to rely on his courage, and he would attack the enemy on his own. While he was talking, an arrow came and pierced his ribs. The Tiger howled with pain.

While he was trying to draw out the arrow with his teeth the fox went up to him and asked in surprise, whoever had the strength and courage to wound such a brave and mighty beast as the Tiger
