Personal Statement
I am a student of Associate Degree of Business Administration from ***(name of school) at the moment, and I have already been familiar with relative knowledge about this major. But apparently my professional knowledge is still in a low level. With all my passion about this major, I would still like to continue my further study as a full-time college student in this field. I now officially present my application for the BBA (Hons) in Global Supply Chain Management.
I have always been highly interested in business and team management since I was a middle school student. During the time when I was in middle school, I was the leader of the discipline group where I was in charge of a group of my classmates. I would say this experience had greatly enhanced my ability for team management, because I learned how to organize a team, integrate all the members and pull the common strength to the same direction, during which process my interest and ability in management was developed.
I think I am an articulate person who is able to convey his ideas. In my middle school period, I signed up several speech contests hosted in Hong Kong and won a place in the matches. There were different types of them, both Chinese and English reading competitions all greeting me. I learned how to address to others and please my audience. But I think my interpersonal skills were considerably improved during my part-time job.
I once served in the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair where I worked as the information counter assistant. To be specific, I dealt with different traders and merchants. It was a large fair and there were visitors from all over the world, and I had the opportunity to communicate with them to practise my spoken English. As the information counter assistant, my job was to provide consultant service to all merchants and visitors. Sometimes I needed to summon all my strength to deal with the tackle from them. From this experience, my communication skills were greatly improved. I think I am an effective communicator that can engage in business conversations and convince others. Besides, after having been acquainted with friends from different regions in the fair, I’ve developed a global outlook as well as my awareness of world economy and realized that the world market is closely connected. I hope to engage in management issues and make my due contributions to the development of Hong Kong and China’s economy.
In terms of my personality, I am an outgoing and optimistic person. I like to be part of a group and make a difference. My working experience enabled me to be expansive and congenial in making acquaintance with others.
After taking my interest and academic background into account, I come to the conclusion that BBA (Honours) in Global Supply Chain Management is the option for me, and I hope you will look favorably on my application.
