定语从句
一、基本概念
定语从句（Attributive Clauses）在句中做定语，修饰或限定一个名词或代词。被修饰限定的名词或代词即先行词。定语从句通常出现在先行词之后，由关系词（关系代词或关系副词）引出。
二、构成
先行词：被定语从句修饰限定的名词或代词。是先行军，定从因太长成为后置定语； 关系词：根据在从句中所作成分分为关系代词和关系副词。只有定语从句的引导词称为关系
词，因其跟先行词和从句关系紧密：关系词一定代替先行词在从句中作成分。
从 句：判断任何主从句的标志都是引导词，引导词之后引的就是从句。

4）It’s a film name is Titanic. 注意观察从句所缺成分：
若从句缺少基本的主语，宾语成分，就需要填关系代词。 因为代词的主要语法功能就是作主语和宾语。而缺少主语和宾语，句子结构很明显是残缺不全的。（whose除外） 2、关系副词 1）The reason he refused the invitation is not clear. why whenwhose whom/whom/that/不who/that 2）Great changes have taken place in the city I was born. 3）I never forget the daymy sister was born. 注意观察从句所缺成分： when 若从句成分比较完整，不缺少基本的主语，宾语，则判断应该使用关系副词来引导。因为状语属于修饰成分，让句意表达的更明确，生动和详尽。但如果缺少，不影响句子的基本结构。
三、特殊情况
1. 只用that的情况：
1).当先行词是something, anythingall, noyhing, everything;不定代词; 2).当先行词是不定代词或被它们修饰时;如: all,few, little, much, every等； 3). 当先行词被the only, the very（恰恰，正是）, the same等修饰时； 4). 当先行词被形容词最高级或序数词修饰时；
5). 当先行词即有人又有物时；The man and his dog that I always meet are standing by the gate. 6). 句子中本身就有who，which时，用that。 2. 只用which的情况：
介词+ 关系代词结构中，指物只能用which，不能用that。 非限定性定语从句中指物只能用which，而不用that。
