34.Take a long vacation or several short vacations in a year?
I?d like to take a long vacation rather than having several short ones in a year, because a long vacation enables me to make bigger plans for recreation.
Firstly, a long vacation will enables me to plan a trip to another city, or even foreign country. I always dreaming to visit the Disney Land in Hong Kong for years, but my work is too busy to have a holiday. So, a long vocation will make this dream come true.
Secondly, I can return to my hometown to see my parents. It?s especially important for people who work far away from home to have a longer vacation, so that they can stay longer with their family.
So, for the above reasons, I like to take a long vacation for bigger plans.
35. What do you think are the characteristics of a good parent?
In my view, a good parent should have different characteristics.
First, a most important characteristic of a good parent is patience. As far as I can see, good parents all distinguish themselves in treating their child patiently with an open mind. It often takes many efforts to teach the kids about right and wrong. Sometimes when the kids get very radical, the parent needs to be patient enough to bring them back to the track.
In addition, a good parent is supportive enough when the child raises a reasonable request. They should also trust the kids to make their own decisions, like how to spend their pocket money or which study group to join.
Such characteristics can one make a good parent.

Well, in my opinion, I would prefer to study in a group on work assignment from class.
Working in a group means I will have partners to cooperate with. The work will be separated into several parts and each of us is only responsible for our own part, and that will decrease our workload and increase the efficiency.
Besides, when I confront difficulties while studying, I can make brainstorms with my partners. By this way, excellent solutions may probably be carried out, and everybody will benefit from the brainstorming.
So that?s why I prefer to be in a group.

I once had a tough experience last semester when I was invited to show my dance with my friends in a large-scale celebration evening.
It was challenging because we had only less than two weeks for preparation. Even worse, it was the end of the term and we were all busy with our final exams.

I agree that students should attend class regularly.
Through two-way discussion, the teacher is able to know what the difficult parts are for the students and then easily help them solve the problems. Likewise, the students can have more opportunity to communicate with the teacher and report their difficulties in time. Thus, both teaching and learning can be effective.
Meanwhile, the students can get a better understanding of teamwork and thus enhance their friendship.
Most of all, the interactive class can achieve a better and more harmonious study atmosphere. This, in turn, would promote the efficiency.
That's why I think attending class is a good idea for students.

An enjoyable event that took place in my childhood was when I got my first dog--- Little.
I was ten and had been pestering my parents for a dog for years. One day I came home from school, my parents said they had a surprise for me and it was waiting for me in my room. I ran up to my room and threw open the door. I found a tiny puppy with a red bow around his neck and sleeping at the foot of my bed.
We became good friends forever. And for the rest of his life, he slept on the exact same spot at the end of my bed every night.
That was a great happy event in my childhood.

The school I'd like to talk about is Nanjing New Oriental School where I took my TOEFL course.
What I like about the school is that I can meet almost the best teachers in the country. They are so talented, eloquent, knowledgeable and humorous that I don't feel any bored in class. Every class passes very quickly.

From my point of view, sports courses form an essential part of children's education for many reasons.
First of all, doing sports helps maintain the physical fitness of students. Movement coming from physical exertion during exercise promotes circulation of blood to all parts of the body. Thus, it helps to prevent diseases and sickness.
Moreover, exercise develops sportsmanship among students. When they play as a team, they are able to identify their role and worth to reach the same goal. It also helps promote their friendship and personality.
Therefore, I think sports courses should be mandatory in school.

It is my mother whom I miss most when I am away from home, for example, study in the university which is 1400 miles away from my born city of Beijing. I definitely agree that one should observe before helping others when there is a dangerous situation.
For one thing, keep a clear mind helps you come up with better solutions to the emergency. Like, if the rescue may need more people than you alone or other tools. And you have to stop and think where to get them.
In addition, if you rush too quickly to the scene, you may even endanger yourself. That?s definitely not helpful for anyone.
Last but not the least, if a person is badly injured or suffering from heart attack, your incorrect rescue may lead to his death.
So for these reasons, I think it will be wiser to think before you rescue people in danger.

Many years have passed, but till today, I still could not forget the special opportunity I have received. It was a rainy afternoon, when I was watching TV in my dorm room, I received a phone call. The man in the phone asking me whether I was still looking for a job? I replied yes. And he then told me that he had read my resume on the internet and could provide me a job as manager secretary in their company with a salary of 3000 yuan per month, I was really surprised by that!

In my opinion, a good leader should have the following qualities: confident and kind. The leader should be confident both of himself and his fellow members. Every time he walks in the working group, he should bring a strong feeling of authority, and makes his students feel a definite sense of trust. And the leader should be kind to his fellow members. If a leader is too strict, his fellow members would be afraid to ask questions, and that will decrease the efficiency of their work.

Honesty is highly valued in Chinese culture. But I definitely disagree that people should always tell the truth, because lying is necessary sometimes.

There are so many information that you can?t tell from people?s appearance, such as the past, hobbies, eating habits and so on.
Furthermore, appearance may lies, it may trick you. What you can get is partial, which may even lead to prejudice. A person who dress decently and talk sincerely doesn?t imply he?s definitely guiltless and kindly.
So I support that one shouldn?t judge a person just from the appearance.
