骨骺下截骨延长手术治疗儿童肢体缩短(介绍一种新的设计)

【摘要】From Dec, 1982 to Oct., 1985, the au-thors treated 16 cases of leg shortening by subepiphyseal osteotomy plus distraction. The causes of the shortening include poliomyelitis (6 cases), congenital tibial or femoral shorte-ning (5), pyogeuic osteomyelitis (2), trauma-tic epiphyseal injury (1), and Vit. A & D intoxication (2). This series includes 11 ma-les and 5 females, with age ranging from 7 to 14 years. In 8 cases, osteotomy and distr-action were perfomed on the upper tibia epi-physis and in another 8 on the lower femoral epiphysis. Details of the operation is describ-ed. According to the postoperative X-ray exa-minations, 21-28 days after the cessation of lengthening, shadow appeared in the gap) af-ter 2 to 3 months well-defined border was seen on both ends with calcified spots in the gap; and the 6th month trabeculae appeared. However, it would take oae year for the epi-physeal line to reappear (in cases when clos-ure has not been completed according to the age) after operation. So far, no immediate epiphyseal closure has been noticed. Besides, neither periosteal hyperplasia nor massive pe-riosteal callus was seen after operation in any of the cases.
