Section I Oral Practice

Task 1 Brainstorming

List words and phrases about the following pictures, and share them with others. Teaching tips:

Task 2 Pair work

Talk about advertisements with your partner. You can take turns asking your partner the following questions. What’s your major? Do you like reading?

I am majoring in Computer Science. But I like English very much, and I want to improve my oral English. So I often go to the English corner and find chances to talk with foreign teachers and students there.

I like my English teacher most. She is our foreign teacher. In fact, she is very fat, but lovely. She always has so many good ideas to make her class active. She divided our class into some groups and let us compete with each other. The loser should sing a song. Sometimes she asked some volunteer to make a speech in class and the winner can have photos with her. We like her very much.

Task 3 Role play

Read the following conversation and role play it with a partner.

Situation: John and Amy are high school classmates. They are talking about their college life.
