PART I Analysis of the teaching material (说教材)

The main topic of units is “what did you do last weekend”. This period is the first period of unit3. The main duty of this period is to lead into the sentence “what did do last weekend” and five verbs studies can get a brief knowledge of what is the past tense. 1. Status and Function of the teaching material.(教材的地位与作用) 2. Teaching Aims and requirements.( 教学目标和要求)

(1) Knowledge and skill goals.(知识与技能目标)

Students master the meaning, reading, writing new words, watched, visited, played, cleaned, and washed. Students master the new sentence “what did you do?”

(2) Course and method goals.(过程与方法目标)

Students can use the new words and new sentence make their own dialogue and use them to record the primary daily things they did.

(3)Equip them with the emotion ,attitude and value goals :(情感、态度与价值观目标)

students can learn the importance of team work and learn to concern their family members by interviewing their family member.

3. Teaching importance and difficulties.(教学重难点).

Students can improve their listening and writing ability to some extent by learning this period. Furthermore, students can get certain knowledge of the past tense and lay foundation for the whole unit3. 4. Teaching Aids(教具)

Multi-media computer, Tape recorder, Flash cards, and so on.

PART V Analysis of the teaching procedures (教学过程)

Step1. Warming-up and lead in

ask students what we learnt last class. This step aims to attract students’ attention and inspire students’ interest. Then choose anyone and ask what he usually do on the weekends? Then ask the whole class “what do you usually do on the weekend?” Next lead in the sentence “what did you do last weekend?”

Step2. Presentation (let`s learn)

Show some pictures and let students use the present and normal tense to describe it. Then describe it again by using the past tense. And students learn the new words.

Step3. Mechanical drills (let`s find out and let try)

Activity “let`s find out” and “let try” ask students to practice the conversation, then listen to the tape and find out the right picture.

Step4. Communicative drills (let’s talk and pair-work)

Let students learn the conversation and then ask students to make their own conversation in pairs and show it to the class.

Step5. Consolidation and extension (let`s find out)

Do a survey: Let the Students ask and answer questions “What did you do last weekend? In pairs, then ask them to write the result on their books. Finally, invite several pairs of students to make a report.

Step6. Teaching summary and Homework

“Make a survey about what your friends or your parents did last weekend .And write it down.”
