Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my teaching ideas with you. The content of my lesson is saving the antelopes in book5 module 6. My presentation consists of six parts. Part 1. Analysis of the teaching material saving the antelopes is a reading passage, which focused on the topic of animals in danger , such topic is related to our daily life ,because there are so many animals that are in great danger, this topic is familiar to the Ss. This class is the first period of this module dealing with reading. Part 2 Teaching Aims and demands No.1 the knowledge objective
Ss can learn the new words and phrases and learn something about sports. No .2 the ability objective
Ss’ reading skills should be improved. No.3 the emotional objective
To increase the Ss’ interest in learning about animals in danger, thus helping them form the idea that we human being should save our friends ---animals, otherwise, we will destroy our home.
Part 3 the Important and Difficult Points
The important point is to understand the whole text and the basic knowledge , such as new words and phrases.
The difficult point is to develop the reading skills, skimming and summarizing language points.
Part 4 Teaching Methods and learning methods The Ss have learned English for some years, so they can understand some words and simple sentences. They are curious and eager to improve their reading skills. So, the learning methods are the method of advanced self-study, cooperative learning and communicative learning. As to the teaching methods, I’ll use Task-based teaching method and communicative Approach method. Part 5 Teaching aids
Multi-media computer, tape recorder and PowerPoint Part 6 Teaching Procedure Step 1. Lead-in. (5 minutes)
Ask the Ss if they know some endangered animals. Ask the Ss to watch a flash about animals in danger.
Step 2. Pre-reading (4minutes)
Ss work in pairs ,look at the picture on the book and guess what the passage is about. Then ,ask the Ss to read the passage quickly to see whether they guess correctly or not.
Step 3. While-reading (26minutes)

1.Ss read the passage quickly, and find the main idea of the passage. Answer the question: Why have the number of antelopes decreased quickly?
2.Ss read the passage carefully, then ,choose the best answers to questions. 3.Read the passage again. Say what the number and dates refer to.
4.Ask the Ss to guess some new words in the passage ,then ,using the new words, make sentences.
Step 4. Post-reading ( 10minutes)
Ss work in groups, discussing the reason why the endangered animals are becoming extinct and the ways to protect them. Then ,ask some groups to report their ideas. Step 5. Homework ( 1minutes)
Ask the Ss to write a passage about what we should do to help animals in danger.
