Pre-reading Activities Show the Ss pictures of famous logoand the founder of the FredEx. Let Ss discuss with each other about the questions on the screen. 1. Text structure analysis Purpose:By summarizing the main idea and analyzing the structure of the textto improve students’ reading and writing ability. Method: To read the text individually and discuss in groups; To use task-based teaching method, and communicative approach. Smith administrated the club's business end and ran a small charter operation in New Haven. (Para. 4) Meaning: Smith was in charge of the club's business as well as ran a small rental business in New Haven. 4. And good leadership has very measurable effects on a company's bottom line. (Para. 7) Meaning: Knowing well how to be a good leader can greatly affect the net profit of a company 5. The early days were underscored by extreme frugality and financial losses. (Para. 9) Meaning: The early state of Smith’s business was accompanied by severe lack of money and financial losses. IV. Grammar and exercises 1. Do the exercises of the unit. 2.
