Working on a farm and taking care of crops can be hot, time-consuming and difficult. Engineers have long wanted to build robots to lighten the load. But it has proved a difficult task. Robots that walk or roll along the ground can step on the easily damaged plants heavily. And they have to stop working when rain turns fields muddy. \with some of those challenges.
Jonathan Rogers is a robotics expert at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. When it comes to a farm environment, he realized robots would face many problems. \
robots tend to get twisted(弯曲的) together or get stuck,\very hard to leave them out for long periods without a human helping them.\
What if the robot could move above the crops? Jonathan Rogers says, \树懒) move from tree branch to tree branch to avoid having to walk around the forest floor.\his team set out to design a robot that could swing hand to hand along wires hung above the field. He named their invention Tarzan after the jungle-swinging character in a movie.
Tarzan is not the first swinging robot. Mark Spong, a robotics researcher at the University of Texas at Dallas notes that some teams have built robots that do gymnastics or copy mammals. But he says he admires Tarzan for its using swinging movement to save energy and the idea of building a wire structure to move around above crops.
Rogers first predicted that Tarzan could help farmers monitor crops with sensors(传感器) and cameras. But he also said future robots might take water to a particularly thirsty plant or fertilize one that needs nutritional support. And adding a third \could allow such a robot to harvest fruits and vegetables. Finally the robot could move off the farm and into the city, helping deal with the traffic and security.
4.What worried the engineers when they built the farm robots?
A. They took up too much space. B. They made the farming process slow. C. They had difficulty exploring in fields. D. They caused certain damage to crops.
5.What does Jonathan Rogers think about most farm robots?
A. They take much time to make. B. They get out of date more easily. C. They depend too much on people. D. They get used to the environment slowly. 6.What attracts Mark Spong most about Tarzan?
A. Its strong wings. B. Its low cost. C. Its creative design. D. Its powerful engine.
7.How did Jonathan Rogers feel about Tarzan's future?
A. It could be found everywhere. B. It could be put into more practical uses.
C. It could be used to do all the farm work. D. It could be popular with working people in cities.

Mankind will soon be able to discover the far side of the moon as the Chang'e 4 probe(探测器), the first one to touch down on the moon's far side, lifted off at 2:23 am on December 8, 2024.
Affected by Earth, the same side of the moon always faces Earth. The other side, most of which is never seen from Earth, is the far side of the moon. However, it is not a \the moon because the far side is as lighted by the sun as the \far side has been taken pictures of, no probe had ever made a soft-landing on it so scientists around the world expect to be able to make close observations and researches of it.
The program's scientific tasks are to perform special observations, to explore condition of the landing site, and to carry out lunar environmental research. The tasks will enable scientists to discover what they haven't known about the moon. They also can make clearer observations into deep space through Chang'e 4.
Chang'e 4 has been designed to fit the moon surface and communication conditions on the far side of the moon. In addition to Chinese scientific equipment, the Chang'e 4 tasks also include scientific devices(装置) developed by the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
In May, China sent off a satellite, whose task is sending signals(信号) between Chang'e 4 and ground control.
The next step in China's lunar exploration timetable, the Chang'e 5 task, is scheduled for 2024 and will collect samples and then bring them back to Earth. 8.According to the passage, Chang'e 4 will be the first . A. to take photos of the moon B. to soft-land on the moon
C. to soft-land on the far side of the moon D. to take photos of the far side of the moon 9.The far side of the moon is the side that . A. on the earth we can see little of B. is dark all the year round
C. scientists have known nothing about
D. faces the earth all the time
10.What is the third paragraph mainly about?
A. What Chang'e 4 is made up of. B. What scientists want Chang'e 4 to do.
C. How Chang'e 4 communicates with ground control. D. How scientists make lunar environmental research. 11.From the passage we can know . A. Chang'e 4 can communicate with ground control directly B. Chang'e 4 will bring samples back to Earth in 2024 C. scientists can make clearer observations without Chang'e 4 D. there is experiment equipment for foreign countries on Chang'e 4

A study has found that a lifetime of regular exercise and activity can slow down the aging process(衰老过程). Researchers say that getting older should not necessarily mean becoming more weak or sick. Their research shows that a devotion to a life of movement and exercise may help us live not only longer, but also healthier.
For their study, the researchers looked at two groups. The first group was made up of 125 non-professional cyclists between the ages of 55 to 79. This group included 84 healthy men and 41 healthy women. We will call this group the \
Researchers then found 130 people to make up second group. Within this group, 75 people were aged from 57 to 80. The other 55 were between the ages of 20 and 36. The people in this group were also healthy, but they did not exercise regularly. We will call this group the \issues were not included in the study.
Then, researchers gave both groups a series of tests. They tested their muscle mass(肌肉质量), muscular strength, percentage of body fat and the strength of their immune(免疫的) systems. Then the researchers compared the results of the two groups.
Results showed that the cyclists did not experience body changes usually regarded as a normal aging process. For example, they did not lose muscle mass or muscular strength. Also, their body fat did not increase with age.
The researchers also found something they had not expected. The study showed that the immune systems of the cyclists did not age either.
