Since 201 U Chinese theatrical performance groups have continuously participated in Avignon Festival, and have performed more than 30 contemporary dramas with more than 1,000 shows. While presenting excellent new works of Chinese contemporary drama to audiences around the world, it also promotes the cooperation between Chinese drama groups and French drama schools and theaters.
Founded in 1947, the Avignon Festival is one of the most famous drama festivals in the world with its rich variety of plays and high-level performances. The 73rd Avignon Festival ended on July 23, with more than 1,000 plays performed during the Festival,
