Course Introduction:
This course tells literary works between Song and Yuan dynasties, as we know, Song and Yuan dynasties is the transitional period of Chinese classical literature. On one hand, traditional poetry had achieved a continuous development and made a great achievement in the new historical condition, on the other hand, light literature such as Ci poetry, novel and drama that belonged to normal citizens began to flourish. So compared with literary works in other historical times, literature in Song dynasty seemed to be more complex. What is more, the big differences of nature, characteristics and valuation criterions among different literature add difficulties for students to handle. So students are not only required to learn the authors and their works, but also the origin, development and feature of literature in Song and Yuan dynasties. Only in this way can students handle the development laws of literature and enhance their ability of understanding, studying and solving problems in a deeper level.
Course Assessment:
The final scores will totally be assessed on the final examination. The final examination is an close-book examination.
