Internet Makes People More Estranged

Honorable judges,distinguished guests,ladies and gentlemen,and my fellow debaters:

Just now the proposer told us,Internet is convenient to contact others,and promotes global communications,so it makes people closer.However,if a man just puts his major energy,even all spare time in Internet,how can he wholeheartedly communicate with his friends in reality?

Actually,when we are talking about being close to somebody,it does mean an emotionally intimate relationship,which is a psychological problem.No matter how fast or convenient people can keep in touch with distant friends or family members,they are just easier to get information of other people,but the true standard to judge whether people get closer or more estranged is to say,whether they can trust each other better than before.

So,does Internet help people trust each other better? Our group's answer is NO.

Internet has two main characteristics.For one part,Internet is a virtual world.On the Internet,no one knows you are a dog.Through a cold computer screen,how can we exchange ideas with others sincerely?We have to know,communication between human beings is based on spoken language,eye contacts,or soul exchange.No matter how wonderful Internet is,it can not replace the real world.Imagine one day when people meet each other and just say,\nternet today\

For another part,Internet is only a media of communication.What does really make people closer?It is the affection between friends,or the concern about family members,rather than a media,Internet.If I resent someone and Internet helps me to contact him easily,I don't think our relationship will be closer.Furthermore,what kind of the medias Internet is?Just as \dvantages\o know,long time of accumulation of relying on this method to contact others,makes people ignore the importance of sincere communication.We are losing the precious trust between people day by day.It is the Internet that makes people more estranged.

We the people create the Internet,and Internet changes the people as well.The enormous influences Internet has brought us,totally change our ways of life and communications.As for the current events,the opening of the Internet give adequate freedom for people to say whatever they like,so it comes all sorts of network crimes,such as cheating others for money,publishing false advertisements.The whole environment of the Internet is full of danger,we have to take precautions against those cheaters when surfing the Internet.How can we trust others in such a dangerous condition?If the trust between people can not be promoted by the Internet,my fellow debaters,How can you say Internet makes pe

Internet is the product of the development of the time's,and all of us are so lucky to live in a informational society,using the Internet to contact others fast and easily.But our group has to remind you,my dear friends,the meeting of minds,the communication between hearts and hearts,will never be completed just by a media of communication,the Internet.

However,theories about human relations told us,communications among people can be divided into two groups:informational and emotional.We can exchange different information in the Internet,but as to being closer or more estranged,it is the exchanges of thoughts and feelings,or we can call that,emotional communication.Internet reduce the time and space distance,but it isn't equal to shorten psychological distance between people.Internet can't shoulder the responsibility of emotional communications.

However,in order to be closer,there is a precondition,or basic factor,that we have to loyally and trustfully communicate face to face.As we have mentioned above,the trust among people is the single standard to judge whether people are getting closer.So how can we build trust relationships?Eye contacts,body language,or written letters.But all these methods cannot be found in the Internet communications.

As to meet new friends from the Internet,in America three-quarters of people don't know their neighbours.Modern people are addicted to the virtual world and ignore the importance of their real lives.People can't even be closer with those living nearest to them,so how can they build trust relation with stranger in the Internet?

I have to say,interactions over the Internet are not very deep.On the contrary,the communication in the Internet,such as QQ,MSN,are relatively shallow,lacking in the depth,and too limited in the contents.Besides,Internet is just a media for communication. The really things that make people closer is affection between friends.People cannot get online all day long,and they have to go back to real life.Using the tools makes us convenient and easy to contact others,but relying the Internet will estrange the people.

Besides,many crimes have occurred through the Internet.Everyday we can see such kind of news,a girl met with her Internet friend and at last she was killed.Can you say it closes the relationship?The crimes belong to the minority indeed,but the influence is great.Internet leads to the loss of trust day by day,how could the loss of trust close our distance?
