How did we survive before the Internet? Finding the answer to almost any question is now just a matter of typing the question into a search engine and then looking at the results. Although we still have to make sure the source is reliable and check that different sources are giving us the same answer, it has never been easier to find information.
One of the side effects of this has been the rise of plagiarism(剽窃)in schools and universities. According to the Macmillan online dictionary, plagiarism is 'the process of taking another person's work, ideas or words, and using them as if they were your own'. If I had used this quote without mentioning the source and adding quotation marks then I would be guilty of plagiarism.
If you use the Internet then you'll know how easy it is to highlight a piece of text, copy it and then paste(粘贴)it into a document on your computer. It's a useful tool when we are copying something for personal use such as a food recipe(食谱). But it's a different story when we are preparing a piece of work that will be marked and judged as our own by a teacher or examiner. Imagine how attractive it must be for a student looking for the answer to a complex question to find the answer online and copy and paste it into their document without giving recognition to the original author. Apart from copying and pasting large parts of text, it's also possible to buy ready-made essays(文章)on the Internet, encouraging students to get someone else to do their work for them. It's a problem facing many schools and universities today.
In an effort to address the problem, many schools now use computer software designed to detect plagiarism. Turnitin.com is one Internet service that compares students' work with the material found online.
But I believe that Internet plagiarism is a problem that needs to be handled when students are as young as seven. If students are taught how to formally give recognition and supply sources then attitudes might change. Copying other people's words and pretending they are yours is a form of cheating and it's something children need to learn from a very early age. 32. What does the author mainly explain in Paragraph 2?
A. Suggestions on quoting. B. The definition of plagiarism. C. Ways to prevent plagiarism. D. The bad effects of plagiarism.
33. What is the author's attitude toward copying information for personal use? A. Acceptable. B. Doubtful. C. Cautious. D. Uncaring. 34. What problem do universities face besides plagiarism? A. Students' choosing essay writing services. B. Students' failure to graduate. C. Students' cheating in exams.
6
D. Students' stealing others' research findings.
35. What does the author suggest to deal with plagiarism? A. Setting up strict rules.
B. Giving wrongdoers heavy punishment.
C. Explaining cheating and plagiarism to students.
D. Giving students the right education from early childhood. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have just returned from a month's stay at your Falcon School of Languages, and I am writing to express my unhappiness with your program.
I thought that a language course would help me improve my English. But the classes had far too many students, which stopped me from making my progress. To make matters worse, no meals were provided. When I wanted to eat I had to go to the nearest café, which was 20 minutes away. You said in your ad that students could enjoy many social activities. However, volleyball was the only activity offered, and although there were many interesting things to see in the city, no trips were organized.
You can imagine how upset I am to have wasted my time and money. Please give me my money back, or I shall be forced to take the matter further.
Yours, Li Hua
