1. It is a story about a young woman living in Austria.译 a story about “一个关于.....的故事” living 在本句中作woman 的后置定语。

2. She went to the Von Trapp family to care for seven children. 译: care for 意为“照料,照顾”,可以与take care of 和look after互换。另外,care for 还有“关心”的意思。

练习:她搬回家住去照料年迈的双亲。She moved back home to her elderly parents.

他不太关心他的朋友。He didn’t much his friends.

3.The father was lonely and often became angry because of the noisy children. 译:_________________________________________________________

lonely adj.意为“孤独的,寂寞的”,在本句作表语,通常它既可以作表语,又可以作定语。

alone adj.意为“独自的,单独的”,只可以用做表语。Adv. 意为“独自”

living adj.也用作定语修饰名词,意为“活着的,有生命的”;另外用作名词时,意为“收入,生计”。

alive adj.用作表语,意为“活着的;充满活力的;热闹的”。 练习:他没有在世的亲人了。He has no relatives.

圣诞节时,村子里变得热闹起来。The village comes at Christmas. 谋生:make a . 5.The father was almost mad at first. almost(adv)几乎,差不多。与nearly是近义词。

at first 意为“起初,起先”,反义词是at last /in the end /finally “终于,最后”。 6. …, but the smiling faces of his childrenmade him and made him happy again. 译:_______________________________________________________________ smile可作名词,也可作动词。smiling是动名词作定语,修饰名词。
