What do you usually do when you feel sick? ? How to make a reservation if you want to see a doctor? ? How to describe your illness? 聚焦有关常用表达,引出本单元学习目标。 ? 以Brain Storming的形式让学生讨论 “Seeing a doctor in a clinic” a) 小组讨论: ? What do we Chinese usually do when we feel ill? (Go to hospital or a clinic directly.) ? What do the Americans do when they feel ill?(Make a reservation first.) b) 教师引导学生回答问题。 二.热身练习 教师随机提问学生: 导出下一部分的练习。 A. What would you say in the following situation? a) When you telephone a clinic and want to make a reservation. ? I want to make an appointment with Dr. Smith. ? Is Dr. Black free tomorrow morning? b) When the doctor asks you about your illness. ? I’ve had a fever /cold/ toothache/ a sore throat. ? I’ve caught a cold and had a bad headache. ? I’ve got a bad pain in my stomach. I feel like going to throw up. ? Is it serious? ? Do I need to be hospitalized?/operated on? B. Could you make a description of your reservation with a doctor to your partner or to the class? You may use the following clues to help you: ? Your illness. ? Proper reasons. ? Time to see the doctor. 学生朗读强记有关问候和介绍的常用表达句型,老师要求学生利用这些常用表达以小组活动的形式,口头编写对话并操练。 三、课堂活动 Task 2 要求学生听录音、分角色朗读对话。在播放录音之前,提出以下问题,引导学生特别留意“看病就医”所使用的表达: How to describe your illness? What should the doctor say when he checks the patient? 常用表达: ? What’s the matter with you? 也可以使用: What happened to you? 或 What seems to be the trouble? ? I have a bad headache and a sore throat. 这是一种常见的病情描述, 其它表达诸如,I’ve got a bad pain in my stomach./ I’ve had a fever. Task 3 把对话中重点的知识点以这种形式导出,然后进行讲解。 A. 听前预测。教师引导学生朗读生词,告知学生这是一个关于预约就诊的对话。要求学生听播音前提前阅读段落,通过已知的内容预测对话大体内容和空格所填词的词性或词组搭配,以提高学生的英语预测能力。 B. 播放录音,提醒学生注意有关“预约就诊”的习惯表达: ? I want to make an appointment with Dr. Lewis. ? I feel a bad pain in my ear since this morning ? I’d like to make an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow. ? Could you tell me what your trouble is? ? Please come at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning. C. 听中确定正确的答案。 D. 听后核对答案。 Task 4 A. 教师引导学生朗读生词。 B. 教师播放录音,引导学生选择正确的答案。 C. 师生核对答案。 D. 引导学生特别留意以下常用表达: ? Are you running a fever? 答复是:No, but I feel very weak.. ? How long have you been like this? 答复是:Since Monday. Task 5 A. 教师要求学生阅读所提供的问题,引导学生预测对话内容,提醒学生特别注意人物关系和病情描述。 ? What’s the relationship between the woman and the man? ? What’s wrong with the man? ? Is the man’s illness serious? ? What should the man pay attention to? B. 教师播放录音,要求学生在听的过程中,结合问题进行简单记录。 C. 提供以下几个问题,以检验学生是否可以回忆起所听的细节,问题如下: ? How long should the man stay in bed? (For 6 days.) ? Should the man lose some weight or gain some weight? (Lose some weight.) D. 师生核对答案。 E. 要求学生会说会用以下重点表达: ? do harm to对……有伤害 e.g. Reading in bed does harm to your eyes.在床上读书对眼睛有伤害。 e.g. Drinking too much does harm to your health. 过度饮酒危害身体健康。 Task 6 A. 本题的3 个会话是本单元的主题对话。引导学生读懂对话前括弧中会话的情景(如果时间允许,下次课复习的时候可以再做一次这个练习,进行复习。),对学生进行提问: a) Why does Adam call Dr Brown’s clinic? b) What’s wrong with Tina? c) What is Peter doing? 让学生听conversation,回答问题。 Answer: a) Adam wants t make an appointment with Dr. Brown. b) Tina had a stomachache. c) Peter is talking to a doctor about his illness. B. 要求学生会说会用以下重点表达: ? make an appointment with .与……约定见面 e.g. I want to make an appointment with your manager. 我想约见你们的经理。 ? suffer from 遭受;患病…… e.g. I suffer from a bad headache. 我头很疼。 My father suffers from high blood pressure.我父亲患有高血压。 C. 分角色朗读对话 D. Role play. Task 7 把本单元主题的重点知识点以这种形式导出,然后进行讲解。 A. 听前预测。教师引导学生朗读表格中的英文表达,通过对话已知的内容预测对话情景和对话内容。 B. 听中确定正确的答案。 C. 听后核对答案。 D. Role play. Task 8 本试题主要是培养学生的口译能力。 A. 学生分组,小组讨论句子所需的重点搭配,句型。 B. 小组活动,一人读出试题,一人口译;反过来转换任务。 C. 教师进行必要的解释,师生互对答案。 D. 要求学生会说会用以下重点表达: ? I want to make an appointment with Dr. Smith ? I have a bad toothache, and I want to see a doctor. ? How long have you been like this? ? I have a headache and a slight fever. ? I’ll give/write you a prescription. Task 9 本题旨在帮助学生进行语言输出。情景:侧重看病就诊常见表达。 A. 引导学生读懂所给的情景,分组进行对话活动。 B. 对小组所创设的对话,进行角色演绎。鼓励一至两个小组,在全班进行角色扮演。 C. 教师给出可借鉴的重点表达。You may use the following clues to help you: 情景: ? Describe your illness. (I got up with a bad headache this morning.) ? How the doctor checks. (Put this thermometer under your tongue.) ? How to treat the illness. (I’ll give you a prescription.) 四、文化拓展 此部分是为了拓展学生的东西方文化知识,引导学生了解东西方有关看预约就诊的文化差异,并了解疾病相关的一些常用表达。 A. 要求学生课下独立完成有关阅读。 B. 教师可借鉴以下问题,了解学生课下阅读情况。 ? What should you do before you make an appointment? (Register with a doctor.) ? What is a doctor’s surgery? (The place where doctors work in groups.) ? How much technical terms do you know about a person’s health? (Run a fever, running nose.) ? How to make a successful doctor visit? (Make preparation in advance.) 五、课外活动
