A Part-time Job I Have Done
This summer, I worked as an English tutor in a family. My student is a boy in the seventh grade, clever but uninterested in English. It is an interesting job, but with quite some challenges.
The first problem I had to solve was how to improve the child's learning enthusiasm. I tried to use pictures, stories and prizes to stimulate his interest, which turned out to work well. The second challenge was to improve his poor listening. I found some interesting English cartoons and watched them with him for half an hour every day. After a month, he was able to understand 70% of the speech in the cartoons. It is a great joy to see my own efforts bear fruit. And I've also learnt from this experience that being a good teacher also requires a sense of humor and teaching skills besides knowledge.
I become more determined to dedicate myself to this meaningful career in the future.
