An exercise apparatus 10 comprises a body 12 to be held in the hands of a person performing an exercise. An eccentric mass 16 is mounted on, or retained within, the housing 12 and constrained to follow a circular path
defined by the body 12 in response to an oscillating movement. The path has a radius of between 15cm and 80cm and the eccentric mass 16 has an out of balance weight of between 0.25 kg and 10 kg. The outer body 12 may be
spherical, or comprise another solid of revolution such as a torus. A shaft may be rotationally supported in the body and connected to the mass 16 by a radial arm. The apparatus 10 may incorporate a device for monitoring the number of
revolutions performed by the mass, such as a MEMS accelerometer. A method of physical exercise using the body 12 is also claimed. 主权项：
