A: Do you think you are introverted or extroverted?

B: I'm quite outgoing, I think. I enjoy mixing and doing things with others.

A: What are your weak points (faults, weaknesses) and strong points (strengths)?

B: Well, I'm afraid I'm a poor talker, and that isn't very good, so I've been learning how to speak in public. I suppose a strong point is that I like developing new things and ideas. A: What do you think is the most important thing for you to be happy?

B: I maintain that the most important thing is having good friends. A person can't live all by himself, I think. It takes a lot of people working and cooperating together. A friend in need is a friend indeed. So the more really close friends I have, the better. A: What attitude do you take towards life?

B: Time and tide wait for no man. So we mustn't put off till tomorrow what can be done today. I've found out that time and money get away very easily —— you think you are in possession of them, and they're gone! Putting things off just makes it worse later, so even if it's hard at the time, I try to get things done that day and not to let them go.

A: What basic principle do you apply to your life?

B: Working hard and being frugal are both virtues, which I strive to practise in my life. About your interests and hobbies

A: Do you have any special interests out of your job? B: Yes. Music and painting are my two great interests in life. A: What do you do on weekends?

B: On weekends I sometimes make an excursion to the suburbs with my family. A: How do you entertain yourself after work?

B: I generally entertain myself in sports, reading, painting. A: What kinds of sports do you like? And do you play or watch?

B: I'm a football fan. But I don't play and just enjoy watching football matches. A: What kinds of books do you like?

B: I enjoy reading biographies, especially those of well-known statesmen, militarists, scientists, and artists. I can learn a lot from their life histories. A: Who are your favorite authors?

B: Lu Xun and Ba Jin are my favorite authors. A: Do you drink?

B: Yes, I do. But I never drink to excess. A: Are you a smoker? B: No, I am not. About ways to contact you

A: Shall we notify you of our decision by mail or phone?

B: Either will do. My address and telephone number is written on my resume.

A: We'll get in touch with you as soon as we've made our decision. Thank you for coming. B: Thank you for your having interviewed me. See you again.

A: I'll contact you by next Saturday. Thank you for your interest in our company. B: Thank you, sir (madam). I hope to see you again.

A: Excuse me. My name is Amy Lin. I have an appointment with Mr. Zhu at ten. Would you mind announcing me?

C: Yes, Miss Lin. Mr. Zhu is expecting you. Go right in.

A: Yes and no. No, I just left college and I don't have any working experience. However, the rigid training at my college should make up for my lack of working experience. B: What do you expect for starting salary?

A: I'll leave that to you, sir. I'm sure you know what is best for me. B: Miss Lin, are you married?

A: I can't say I am. I don't even have a steady boy friend. B: What are your future plans, if you don't mind my asking. A: I'm a doer, not a day dreamer.
