The person who reach this goal: Chairman of Tianjin University Student Union What I learned from this observation: It is not necessary for a true leader to be an expert in such or such field of his career. But he must possess the charismatic and the capacity to drive different people, who have diverging opinions, or even conflicting interests, to proceed together to the same organizational goal.

2. The activity I initiated: To organize a group to sing English anthems on Christmas Eve, visit all dormitories in university and send Christmas gifts on behalf of our English Association The desired result: To broaden the students' horizons about Western culture.

My leading role: Combine the representatitives' suggestions with my idea and draw the decision on:

* Who could attend the choir?

* Which spots we performed on?

The result: Many students said that they felt the warmness we sent to them and they hoped we would hold such activities next Christmas.

3. Background: I organized the first activity after the establishment of the Management School English Association.

The desired result: To help the freshmen and the sophomores with their English while publicizing our group.

4. Background: I advanced a plan to found an English Garden in collaboration with fraternal association in neighboring university.

The disagreement:

* The authority of our school may dissent.

* The cost was expensive, and we had no enough human resources to carry on this project.

* There were too many English corners. Another one was unnecessary. The facts I made use:

* Our dean approved this proposal.

* Our partner was willing to provide financial assistantship. And our members volunteered to design the details of the plan and implement it.

* The poll showed that the current English corners did not meet the students' requirement and lacked uniqueness. The result: Others were convinced and we founded the English Garden successfully.

5. Background: In the military training, we hold a Military Songs Competition.

Working procedure:

Design: I cooperated with my colleagues to figure out the climax of the performance, the musical accompaniment of the songs and the whole arrangements of the narrative poem.

Rehearsal: I worked together with those who were in charge of the lights, sounds and scenes to create the perfect artistic effect.

On stage: I reminded my fellows with gestures and eye expressions. Also, we coped with an emergency coherently.

The result: Our military team won the second prize in this competition.

6. Activity: To hold the Perspective Entrepreneur Contest.

The innovative idea I produced: To simulate a board meeting of a company, in which our candidates debated the feasibility of selling modern fitness equipment according to the market information they collected.

The result: The contest was hold based on my proposal.

7. Background: On one morning when our promotion month first began, I found that the inventories in some department stores were not adequate.

My assessment of the situation: The four promoting stores were not very far from each other, and the time they opened was not the same. It was possible to fetch some stock from another store and made up for it later.

The priorities: To satisfy the stocking demand of the store which had the largest number of customers.

8. Background: In the investigation of customers' opinions about the taste of a new kind of beer, I found that the questionnaire form was out of date and limited the freedom of the responseser' choices.

1.¸öÈËÄÜÁ¦£¨Ñݽ²£©Situation:As the only one undergraduate student, I was allowed to take part in the ¡°Graduate Student English Speech Contest¡± of H.I.T.Target:To learn how to make a speech, and win the prize.Action:Acoording to the requirement I used ¡° New Century and New Challenge¡± as my topic. In order to attract the audiences attention, I decided to choose ¡°The relationship between China and Japan in the New Century¡± as the content. After the decision I strat to searching

for the relevant information and news pictures on the Internet, also I read several articles to learn how to write a successful speech paper, at the same time I listen to the famous speech recording tape every morning. After all these, I finished my first draft and I made a performance in front of my classmates and my friend Lucius. But the result is not good, since most of the words in paper is boring and I performed like a robot. So according to their advices I rewrite my paper using simple words and reduce the number of long sentence, besides I watch the famous speech of Bill Clinton to learn how to ues guesture to help emphasis the focal point. Finally I practice hunderd times to control my speed to match the powerpoint. Then I anticipated the contest.Result:I got the best apprasie, but only got the second prize only for the topic is too sensitive.

2.Áìµ¼Á¦£¨±çÂÛ¶Ó£©Situation:As the leader of the Debate Team of Department Mathematics, we took part in the ¡°San Hao Cup Debate Contest¡±.Target:Lead the member of my team to win the prize.Action:Since I have the debate contest experience before, the teacher choose me as the leader. First, in order to organize a team and make it operate effectively, I had conversations with all my classmates to looking for the player I need. Then after the decision of 6 members, I distribute the appropriate work to him or her according to their different characteristics. After that accoring to different responsibility we search for relevant information seperatly. However, I check their progress every two days and I held meetings to discuss the possible attacks and answers with them. Finally we made several simulated debate in the class, every time we found problems and I made several changes of our team to perfect our performance. In the end, we anticipated in the contest.Result:We defeated the Physics Team, Biology Team and Chemistry Team and win the first prize. I also elected to be the Best Player

3.ͬÐı­Ô˶¯»á£¨ºÏ×÷£©Situation:As a member of our class team, we took part in the ¡°Tong Xin Cup Interesting Sports Meeting¡±.Target:To learn the collaboration spirit , enjoy the progress of the game and win the prize.Action:As one of the ten volunteers we took part in the eight sport items, such as ¡°Carrying Big Carrot¡±, ¡°Chasing the Duck¡± and ¡°Red Flag Swinging¡±. On one side, we asked the senior students for useful advices and information about each item, on the other hand, we had a meeting to carefully research the game sequence, considering many possible factors, (such as the carrot is big and heavy which is not suitable to girls, and the duck may gor tired and did not want to move to the later class). We decided which game must win and which to give up, in order to win the total scores. After all these, I was distributed the items ¡°Carrying Big Carrot¡± and ¡°Walking In Line¡±. In the game ¡°Carrying Big Carrot¡± according to our plan we had a good collaboration about carrying and piling, we always left a player to pile and the other two players carry no more than five carrots each time, this is the most efficent method. In ¡°Waling In Line¡±, since we had practiced many times and we had slogans for each steps, we successfully win the match.Result:We had a great time and enjoy a lot of fun, finally we got the first prize.

4.´´ÐÂÁ¦£¨Ì«Æ½¹«Ë¾ÊµÏ°£©Situation:In 2001, I took part in summer internship in Wuhan TaiPing Insurance Company. My department aimed at providing analysis service for the sales data.Target:To use my knowledge from statistics to improve the triditional report form.Action:The traditional weekly report form is just the collection of sales data, and only the total sales number and the incresement number is useful. So I was longing to use the multiple-paremetre statistic method to get further use of the information provided by the sales department. In the beginning, I collect more information, such as the sale places and the age of the customer. Then I chose 8 factors as the component using main component anlysis method to deal with the data in SARS software. In this way, the advantage is as follow:1)the sales situation can be clearlly seen from the graph2)those sales which contribute most to the total sales number is listed. 3)those places where has no sales record this week is also evaluated.Result:I not only got the praise from my supervisor, but also learned about the application of statistics.
