intermediate raw material thereof etc., which neither uses a reaction solvent nor requires a specific purification
treatment.;SOLUTION: The method for producing a dialkyl malate comprises using a titanium compound or a tin compound as an acid catalyst in the
absence of a reaction solvent, esterifying malic acid with an excessive amount of a monohydric alcohol, then decomposing the acid catalyst and carrying out removal of unreacted monohydric alcohol by
distillation and removal of decomposition product of the acid catalyst by filtration in an arbitrary order. The dialkyl malate having an oligomer content of 1-10 wt.% is obtained by the production method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
