INTRODUCTION

The following Personal Protective Equipment Safety Program is compiled to prevent injuries and illnesses associated with health and physical hazards during all general industry activities. A Personal Protective Equipment Safety Plan must be developed and evaluated on a site by site basis.

STATEMENT OF COMPANY POLICY

[ XX] is dedicated to the protection of its employees from on-the-job-injuries. All employees of [XX] have the responsibility to work safely on the job by following this and all company policies and procedures.

3.0

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Personal Protective Equipment Program is:

? To supplement [XX]'s standard safety policies by providing safety standards specifically designed to

cover the use of personal protective and life saving equipment on the job, and; ? To ensure that each employee is trained and made aware of the safety provisions which are to be

implemented by this program prior to the start of work.

This program is designed to enable [XX] and its employees to recognize the hazards on the job and to establish the procedures that must be followed in order to prevent injury, and comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Each employee will be trained in these procedures and must strictly adhere to them. If, in the employee's opinion, following the established procedures may present a hazard, the employee must notify [Person in Charge], or [Name of Competent Person] of his/her concern. All safety concerns must be addressed before beginning or continuing work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Responsibilities

The objective of a safe, accident-free work environment can only be accomplished by the dedicated, concerted effort of every individual involved with the project. Each employee must understand:

? The safety policies and procedures, and their purpose;

? What his/her individual role is in administering, implementing, monitoring, and complying with

the safety policies and procedures; and ? The costs of accidents in physical, emotional and monetary terms. [XX employees must:

? Complete all required safety training; ? Follow safe work procedures;
