This semester, after learning ancient Greek and ancient Rome Civilization , Ancient Greece and ancient Rome brilliant ideas and culture politics left a deep impression on me. After the class, I did some researches and now I want to write three aspects about it, which are most inspired me .They are philosopher Plato , Odyssey and Greek myths. Firstly ,Odyssey. the Greeks started a war against Troy over the most beautiful lady Helen. The Greeks could not break into Troy until the famous sage Odyssey put forward the Trojan Horse plan. The Greek army pretended to had retreated and left a large wooden horse, which was fully loaded with soldiers, outside Troy. The Trojan viewed the wooden horse as a gift from the Gods and carried it back into the city. In the midnight, the Greek soldiers went out of the wooden horse and opened the gate of the city, and the Greeks finally defeated Trojans with the help of the Trojan Horse.
In this battle, the number of ancient Greek forces is far less than Troy, and military power is weaker than Troy，but the ancient Greek coalition use Trojan horse plan defeated Troy. Odysseys made the Trojan hide soldiers, the Greek army, captured the city of the enemy, and won the war. The general view of the battle of Troy, the Greek army has many heroes like Odysseys , but like Odysseus love thinking, the hero is not much, despite the criticism would have been a kind of \people\but the fact that Odysseys is correct, Trojan horse put for a
successful ending of ten years of the battle of Troy.
On the way home, Odysseus suffered all kinds of hardships and dangers, the goddess Calypso wanted to use beauty to leave him, Poseidon prevented him by force, siren, Cyclops, strange bird with death threats he.. but Odysseus persevered, by virtue of the own resourcefulness and courage because of heart for the care of the family. From this, the love of the family is the source of Odysseus's strength. The story of Odysseus's brave, strong, not afraid of sex temptation quality perfectly reflects the ancient Greek spirit of heroism.
I admire Odyssey because His story reflects the effort to survive, eulogize the fighting spirit to survive. People can suffer, people can cry, but the value of life lies in the struggle. People in the struggle to forge ahead, to get rid of the passive situation; people in the struggle to see their own strength, in part to grasp their own destiny, to earn more than the current situation of good prospects. Maybe he is just a hero existed in the Homer, but his spirits immortal.
Secondly , Plato. Plato is a great philosopher of ancient Greece ,as well as one of the greatest philosophers and thinkers in western culture and philosophy. Plato’s teacher Socrates ,and his student ,Aristotle are outstanding
philosophers
,too.

dominated by these three famous men. I admire Plato because he is the founder of Western objective idealism.
Plato believes that the world is consist of” idea” and” phenomenon ”.The world of idea truly exit and never change. While, the world we can see and we can touch is just the faint shadow of the idea world which is formed by phenomenon ,and each kind of phenomenon is due to the change of spatial and temporal. From this perspective, Plato put forward a theory of ideas and memories, and regards it as the philosophical foundation of the teaching theory. In his view, all the tangible things in nature are moving, while the “idea”of them never change. Plato pointed out that, when we talk about the \have an horse, but said any horse.
Besides, I absolutely agree with Plato is his love view. He thought the mind removes from the human body and is longing for the truth is the best. When the soul is the spirit of evil by the infection, people wish to pursue the truth will not be satisfied. When humans do not have the strong demand of the flesh, the mood is peaceful, the flesh is animal performance, is the nature of every organism .This kind of love is a kind of ideal love view, a romantic view which is impossible to achieve :standing beside the lover, quietly pay, silently waiting .He does not expect the approach, does not have a prayer. Perhaps this is not asking for anything is doomed to a tragic ending. Finally, it is only two in the
distance
waiting , leaving the
most
beautiful
memories
of fragments as eternal!
Thirdly ,Greek myths. Ancient Greek culture as the representative of classical culture, in the western world has occupied a very important position .Actually, Greece successful cultural fields and myths and legends are closely related. Greek mythology is not only the earliest literature, and it is the earliest ideology. In Greek mythology, including God and the story of heroes of legend.
The Greek myths is very rich and vivid, it is the humanity in the childhood is full of simple, lively and romantic imagination results. It shows the ancient Greeks desire to understand nature, conquer nature aspiration and tenacity. For example, many like Prometheus, also has the benefit of mankind's great god. Prometheus put the fire theft to the world, so that human beings have the epoch-making progress. Greek mythology to the ancient Greeks brought God worship. the unity of God worship also brought with the active factors in the common belief. Myth not only as the original cultural heritage by the Greeks inheritance, but also greatly influenced later Greek culture development.
The legend of heroes for the ancient history, social life and to struggle for natural events such as memory. Heroes are treated as the offspring of a God and man, is actually the collective strength and wisdom of the representatives, reflects the Greeks to the bold spirit.
While the Greek mythology not only is a Greek myth. In addition to the above cultural values, it has more social significance. Modern,
scientific development also needs the Greek culture water. In politics and law, also borrowed from Greek mythology references, and this is most common in literary works. Many Western idioms originated in ancient Greece, so green mystery analogy problem; the sword of Damocles metaphor is very dangerous, and Euripus violins, Cupid's arrow and so on In summary, Greek mythology to Europe and the United States has a profound influence.
