从目的论角度分析电影《活着》英语字幕翻译中的归化与异化

【摘要】： 电影是现代社会中人们生活必不可少的一部分。欣赏外国电影作品能促进不同文化间的了解和沟通,因此,作为一门新兴领域,电影翻译近年来逐渐兴起。字幕翻译是影视翻译的一种。就研究现状来看,欧洲对字幕翻译的理论研究开展的较为广泛和深入,在翻译策略、翻译规范等方面都形成了一定的共识和规范。而我国在字幕翻译研究方面则相对滞后。 观看电影的过程实际上也是文化交流的一种方式,电影字幕的翻译对于异国观众对源语文化的理解至关重要。但是由于电影字幕翻译时间和空间等多方面的局限性,以及不同文化所特有的表达和文化空缺现象使得电影字幕翻译更加复杂。为了处理好源语文化和目的文化的关系,在此过程中译者通常需要在两种基本翻译策略中做出选择,即归化与异化。归化和异化的应用是翻译界争论的焦点。本文试图借用翻译目的论的理念来解读和探讨电影《活着》的英文字幕翻译是如何处理这两种翻译策略的。通过分析了电影《活着》的具体翻译目的,作者得出结论,为了完成其具体翻译目的,在字幕翻译种应将归化与异化相结合。之后,作者探讨了在这两种翻译策略的指导下电影中运用到的具体翻译方法。这些翻译方法的应用更好的证明了作者的结论。最后,作者对于电影中不合理的字幕翻译提出了自己的意见。 全文共分七章,第一章和第二章介绍全文的理论基础,回顾了目的论的概念和主要内容,以及字幕翻译的重要性和前人在这两个方面所进行过的研究和取得的成果,同时指出了本论文的研究目的和方法。第三章作者研究了《活着》这部电影的具体翻译目的如何决定了应将归化和异化相结合。接着,在第四章中作者具体分析了这部电影中在归化翻译策略的指导下所具体采用的翻译方法。第五章则详细探讨了异化翻译策略指导下的主要翻译方法。第六章提出了对个案中处理不当的翻译的改进。第七章是对全文的总结。 【关键词】：字幕翻译 归化 异化 目的论 《活着》 【学位授予单位】：西南交通大学 【学位级别】：硕士 【学位授予年份】：2008 【分类号】：H315.9
