Introducing circuit simulation software:
Multisim is a Windows based simulation tool introduced by the U.S. National Instrumentation (NI) Co., Ltd, which is suitable for the design of board-level analog/digital circuit boards. It contains the graphic input of circuit schematic diagram, the input mode of circuit hardware description language, and has rich simulation analysis ability. Engineers can use Multisim to build circuit schematics interactively and simulate circuits. Multisim refines the complexity of spice simulations so that engineers can quickly capture, simulate, and analyze new designs without having to understand spice technology, making them more suited to electronics education. Through Multisim and virtual instrumentation technology, PCB design engineers and electronics educators can complete a comprehensive design process from theory to schematic drawing capture and simulation to prototype design and testing.

Part A—Water Level Alarm System With Thermostat
1.Design Requirement
It is required to design a water level alarm system that can be used to monitor the river(s) water level and water temperature. The input voltages available to the alarm system are defined to be in the range of 0 to 1 volts from the water sensors. The alarm system should use four LEDs to indicate the following voltage levels at its input 4, 6, 8 and 10 Volts. When all the LEDs are on, the system should generate a square wave audible tone with a peak to peak value of 5 Volts for 10 seconds. The design should also use a thermostat to gauge the temperature and display the temperature on a Seven Segment Display .
