For another, the theme of Paragraph 2 is“having close friends with some Americans,”but the second example does not serve this purpose.
4. Some of the paragraphs are not coherent and unified. For example, in the
opening paragraph the information provided by Sentences 2, 3 and 4 are

to his friends, the Americans treat strangers. The example is not relevant
to the topic of the second paragraph. Instead of further emphasizing the
thesis, the closing paragraph introduces some new topics. In addition, the
phrase“from my experience”is repeated twice in the essay, but the
writer fails to relate relevant experience.
