That ‘s the only thing ____we can do now. 二定语从句 1. 概念：在复合句中，修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫定语从句。定语从句所修饰的名词（代词）叫先行词，定语从句通过关系词来引导。定语从句分为限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句。 2. 基本结构：先行词+关系代/副词+从句 先行词：指主句整句或主句部分被定语从句所修饰的名词或代词。 关系词：关系词有三个作用:一是连接主句与从句; 二是指代先行词;三是在从句中充当句子成分。选择关系词的两条重要依据: 先行词是人还是物；在从句中作何种句子成分。 3. 关系词的选择与作用 从句中作用 主语 指人 Who that 指物 Which that 主句整句 ,as 或As…., ,which(置主句后) that ,as 或As…., ,which(置主句后) 宾语 Who whom prep.+whom Whose that Which prep.+which 定语 时间状语 地点状语 原因状语 方式状语 Whose of which (指at the time /in the year /on the day)when , at/in /on which (指at /in the place )where, at /in which (指for the reason)why, for which (指in this /that way)in which, that 或不填 4. 关系词的特殊用法 （1） 只能用that ,不能用which 的情况 1
a. 先行词是指物的all, little , much , few, everything , anything, nothing, none 等不定代词时 b. 先行词被all, every, any, much, little , few, no 等词修饰时 c. 先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时 d. 先行词被the only, the very(正是，恰是), the same , the last 修饰时 e. 先行词既指人又指物时。 f. 当主句是以which, who, what 开头的特殊疑问句时，引导定语从句的关系代词一般用that （2） 不用that 的情况 a.在引导非限制性定语从句时;介词后不能用。 （可简单记为“前有介词和逗号， 不能用that.） (3)关系代词as 的用法 只能用按时引导的非限制性定语从句: a置于句首时，非限制性定语从句只能用as引导； ______ is known to everybody, the moon travels around the earth once every month. b在the same···as···结构中，“像·····那样的” Chongqing is not the same city _________ we have seen in other place. c在结构as··· as···中，“像·····那样的” No period in history has had as many important changes_________have taken place in the last century. d在结构such··· as···中，“像····一样” I hope to get such a dictionary ________he is using. （4）“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句 在“（名词，数词，代词+）介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中， 关系代词只能用whom(指人)和which（指物）。先行词指人时，用whom, 先行词指物时用which. 在这种结构中 ， “介词”的选择可依据以下几点： a. 介词与定语从句中的谓语动词是一种固定搭配。 b. 看句中需用哪个介词句意才符合逻辑。例如：表示“所有关系”或整体中的一部分时常用of. c. 介词与定语从句中的形容词一起构成固定搭配，如be proud of 为固定词组。 (5) 如果先行词是way, 可用that, in which 引导定语从句，或不用关系代词。 Eg: I don’t like the way that he spoke to me. =? 三易混点举例 1. 关系词在定语从句中充当主语，宾语还是状语 （1） I live in Guangzhou ______is in the south of China. （2） I’ll go to Beijing ______my uncle works and lives. （3） I’ll never forget the day _____I spent with my friends in the country. . （4） I still remember the day _____I stayed in the country with my friends. 当先行词是表示时间、地点或原因的词语时, 不一定填关系副词when, where, why, 需要弄清所缺的关系词在从句中的作用才能选择恰当的关系词。需要牢记的是：关系副词在定语从句中只能做状语，即使先行词是表示时间，地点的名词，但如果所缺关系词在从句中是做主语，宾语的话，仍然要用关系代词which, that. 四强化训练 1.
