I missed class to go the doctor’s. 我去看病， 错过这堂课。 （1）miss v. 错过；思念 miss doing sth. 错过做某事 e.g. The pigeon was lucky that it just missed being caught. 鸽子很幸运地逃过一 劫。 （2）go to the doctor’s 去看医生 e.g. go to the butcher’s 去买肉 3. I’d rather make phone calls than write a letter. 我宁愿打电话也不愿写信。 Would rather do A than do B 宁愿做A而不愿做B 相当于prefer doing A to doing B e.g. Helen prefers writing letters to making calls. 海伦宁愿写信而不愿打电话。
