通过前面的几个课时的学习,学生对世界各地的节日庆祝活动已比较熟悉,加之学生对中国传统节日也比较熟悉,这就为本节课的阅读和写作练习奠定了良好基础。

学生已积累了较为丰富的表达节日庆祝活动的词汇和语句,更何况前面的听说活动中已口头描述过中国传统节日,因此学生已具备较好的书面描述节日的能力。
在前面的听说活动和阅读活动中,学生已进行过中外节日的对比,对中外节
日文化的差异已有所了解,加之Reading and Writing部分又为学生提供了阅读输入的机会,让学生在对比中外情人节的过程中打开了思路,激发了灵感,因此要完成故事结尾的续写也基本顺理成章。

Listening & writing
Listen for the names of the festivals
Look at the pictures on P45 and write out the festival names for each picture. Listen to the tape and check the answers(exercise 1).
Listen for the information of the festivals
Listen to the tape and find out the answers to the questions of exercise 2. Check the answers and talk more about the festivals.
Create a new festival(or think of a familiar festival) and write a passage to introduce it to us.
Get Ss familiar with how to describe a festival, with the help of speaking task on P46.
Prepare a short report about the festival, trying to use the words and expressions learnt in this unit
Get some SS to present the report to the class, pointing out the shortcomings and reminding them to add the points of keeping or passing on traditions.
