(一）基数词(cardinal numbers)
数词分为基数词和序数词。基数词表示数目，序数词表示顺序。 基数词的构成
① 表示数目多少的数词叫做基数词。
② 表示1-12为独立的单词，各有各的形式。(详见课本P11) ③ 表示13-19的基数词均以-teen 结尾。(详见课本P11)
④ 表示20-90之间的“整十”基数词都以-ty结尾 (详见课本P11)
⑤ 表示“几十几”的基数词：先说“几十”，再说“几”，且十位和个位之间要加连词符。
如： 22: twenty-two 99: ninety-nine
⑥ 101-999之间的非整百的基数词，读法为：百位与十位(或个位)之间用 and连接。 如: 156 one hundred and fifty-six 709 seven hundred and nine ⑦ 四位数或四位数以上的基数词：
拼写规律为：从右向左每三位加一个逗号，第一个逗号前用thousand, 第二个逗号前用 million, 第三个逗号前用 billion，读数时从左向右依次读出。 如：4,895 four thousand eight hundred and ninety-five

3. 表示顺序：基数词表示顺序时由“单数名词+基数词”构成，此时名词和基数词的首字母通常大写：e.g. Class Three Room 502 Page 100 Lesson Twelve 4. 表示时刻
e.g. two o’clock twenty past three 5. 确数与概数
确数：基数词+计数单位的单数（hundred, thousand, million, billion）+名词复数。 e.g. six hundred students
概数： 计数单位的复数（hundreds, thousands, millions, billions）+of +名词复数 e.g. thousands of books
6. “整十”的基数词用于表示几十年代或者某人几十多岁时。
e.g. in the 1960s 20世纪60年代 in his thirties 在他30多岁的时候 7. another+基数词+名词复数= 基数词+more +名词复数 意为在已有基础上又增加一定的数量。
