19 Naughty Brother
Donny is my little brother. He is a naughty boy.
On Sunday morning Donny went into the yard and played with a dog. Sometimes a bird would come down to stay on the top?s of the dog?s house. Then Donny threw a stone at it. Suddenly the little boy began crying. Mother ran to Donny and asked him what was wrong. He said, “I?ve broken sister?s plate. She has beaten me. “Ithrew it at a bird, and it went straight to the plate. ”
Such was my naught brother.
” “Why?”
20 Mike and the Pot（锅）
One day, Mike?s mother needed a pot. She asked Mike to borrow one from her friend. So Mike went to the friend?s house. She gave him a big pot. On the way home Mike put it down on the road and looked at it. It was made of clay and had three legs.
Then he said to the pot,
“You have three legs
and I have only two. You can carry me for a few minutes. ” Then Mike sat down inside the pot. But the pot didn?t move.
Mike got angry and broke it then carried the

21 Sun the Ice
Once a simpleton?s wife told him to buy some ice.
Two hours later, he didn?t come back. She wanted to know why he didn?t come back and went out to have a look. She saw he was standing in the sun at the gate and watching the ice melting.
“What?sthe matter? ”She asked him. “Why don?t you bring it in?

“I saw the ice was wet and I was afraid that you would scold(责备) me so I?m running it dry. The simpleton（傻子） answered.

22 A Silly Man
Fred was going to school. When he passed a park, he saw a man sawing a big branch from a tree. The man was on a ladder and the ladder was against the big branch he was sawing. “Hi, it is dangerous. F”red shouted. branch, you will fall, too.

23 Be careful what you wish for A couple had been married for 25 years and were celebrating their 60th birthdays, which fell on the same day.
During the celebration a fairy( 仙 女 ) appeared and said that because they had been such a loving couple for all 25 years, she would give them one wish each.
The wife wanted to travel around the world. The fairy waved her hand, and boom! She had the tickets in her hand.
Next, it was the husband'sturn. He paused for a moment, and then said shyly, \’d like to have a woman 30 years younger than me.\The fairy picked up her wand, and boom! he was ninety.

24 The change for a reward
A lady lost her handbag. It was found by an honest little boy and returned to her. Looking in her purse, she commented, \That's funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1 bills.\
The boy quickly replied, \lady. The last time I found a lady's purse, she didn't have any change for a reward.\
25 You're Right
Once Mr. Henry went to a small town with high mountains all around it. It was a quiet and cool place and some rich people liked to go there for their holidays. A week later, before Mr. Henry left the town, he paid thirty pounds for a parrot. When he came back, he began to teach the bird to speak. He tried his best, but it learned only one sentence,“You're right.” He was disappointed and said to the bird angrily，“How foolish you are!”
“You're right,” said the parrot.
The next day Mr. Henry took the bird to the market and wanted to sell it for eighty pounds. Before long a fat man came and looked at the parrot carefully. Then he asked“, How much is it,

” asks Mrs. White,
“Mum,I wish we can stay in New York. I have many friends there .We are new here, and I have no friend now.
” Bob says.
