摘 要：本文简述了地理信息系统与交通运输的发展概况，并阐述了将GIS技术运用于交通运输中的必要性与可能性。接着，文章多方位的展示了地理信息系统在道路运输、轨道交通、港站选址设计以及运输管理方面的应用。最后对未来交通运输的发展做出了预测与展望。 关键词：地理信息系统（GIS）；交通运输；应用；前景
The Application of Geographic Information System in
Traffic and Transportation System

Abstract: This article describes the development of GIS as well as traffic and transportation system. It proves the necessity and possibility about the application of geographic information system in traffic and transportation system. What’s more, it shows us the application of GIS in road traffic, rail transportation, and station design as well as transportation management. In the end, we make the forecast to the development of transportation in the future.
