1、concents:

What is Protoplast?What is Protoplast?

Globins enveloped by membrane without cell wall are called protoplast, which is released in high osmotic solution. Protoplast fusion technique?

In the presence of external conditions (e.g. PEG, electric field), two protoplasts from different parents fusion and genetic reunion.The good hybrids are screened from these fusion hybrids.

2、The development and application of

protoplast fusion technique

1960,Bariskfirstdiscovered the animal cell

spontaneous fusion. 1974,Kao found PEG can effectively induce plant protoplast fusion and developed this technique.1979,Pestifirst applied bacterium screening to increase yield of penicillium.

This is the first trial of application in fermentation industry.

In our country, the first application of this technique was in 1990. Zhang Kuxuapplied to Glutamicacid fermentation industry.

(B.flavumTG866 andC.crenatumB9) .

The yield of Gluproduced by fusion hybrids F6 was 84 g/l.

Now, protoplast fusion technique has developed to one of regular techniques in animal, plant, microbiology, and fermentation industry.
