Starter Unit 1 Good morning!

Teaching aims:

1. 知识目标:

A.学会正确朗读和书写A a – H h 八个字母. B.理解八个人名并能区别男孩名还是女孩名。 C.了解相关的缩略词。

D.学会使用基本的礼貌问候用语;How are you? / I’m fine, thanks. How are you? /I’m OK. E. 学会将相同音素字母和单词归类。

2. 能力目标:

A.掌握元音字母A a Ee的发音规律,提高学生的辨音能力;并能够正确书写。 B.能够向别人有礼貌地问候;并能使用不同时段打招呼的用语。 C.培养学生观察生活、捕捉信息的能力。 3. 情感目标:

A.通过本单元的学习,使学生从小养成礼貌待人的良好行为习惯; B.通过学生对英语的初步学习,激发他们的学习兴趣和求知欲。 教学重点、难点

重点: A. 熟练掌握字母A至H; B. 掌握基本的问候用语。

难点:A.掌握元音字母A和E在单词中的发音; B.学会如何用简单的日常用语向别人问候。 课时安排

教师根据部分学生是英语零起点的实际情况,对教材进行了顺序调整,把有关字母内容整合在一起,从字母教学入手,逐步过渡到日常用语学习。具体安排如下: 第一课时 2a-2e; 第二课时1a;4a-4d.第三课时 1a-1c;3a-3d.

Period One

Difficulties: 1. 八个英语名字的正确发音; 2. 字母A, C, G, H的正确发音和正确书写方法。 课前准备

老师:准备上课所需图片及实物。学生:准备一些卡片以便上课时使用。

Teaching steps:

Step 1:Lead-in Listen to the ABC song and sing it together.

Teacher: Can you tell the differences between the letters and the phonetic symbol.

Step 2: Present the letters. 1. the letters.

Teacher: English is one of the most important languages in the world. It is widely used all over the world. It is so useful that we must try our best to learn it well. Thus, we can talk with foreigners casually. If we want to learn English, first we should learn the letters. Today we’ll try to learn the letters A to H. 2.Read the letters.

Follow the teacher to read the words aloud. They can read them using the two different intonations----a rising intonation and a falling intonation.

3.Write the letters, teach how to write the letters one by one.(规范学生的书写,养成良好的学习习惯。) Teacher:English letters have two forms.They are capital letters and small letters.They are both important.

You can write them after the models.

4. Practice writing the letters on their exercise books and the teacher checks them. Step 3: Practice.

1. 2b. Listen to the tape and number the letters you hear .The students listen and give the right answers. A.2a. Play the recording for the first time. Students listen.

B. 2b. Play the recording for the second time. Students listen and number the letters. C. Play the recording for the third time. Students listen and check their answers. D. Students read them aloud. 2. 2d. Finish it.

3.Listen and draw lines between the letters you hear.

Teacher: The English letters can be made into a beautiful picture. Can you guess? Let’s listen and guess what it is.

4. Play a game. Help the balloons find their homes.

Teacher: Look at the picture. The balloons come out of the houses. Can you help them find their houses? Step 4: The abbreviations.

1. Show the pictures.(使用生活中常见的物品及图片。)

Teacher: The English letters are not only used in the words, but also in different places in our daily life. Look at these things. Can you tell me what they mean?

2. Show the pictures and students read the letters below each picture. T: What’s it? S: HB / CD /BBC. 3. Have a discussion about the abbreviations.

Teacher: The words like these can be found easily in our life. Can you tell me something else? Now let’s have a discussion about them.(Students are divided in groups to have a discussion.) 4. Report the result to the class. Step 5: Make letter cards.

Encourage students to make letter cards in different groups. Step 6: Homework 1. Write the letters A-H.

2. Think about the pronunciation of the letters in the English words.

Period Two

课前准备

教师:准备练习时所需单词表格及录音机等。

Teaching steps:

Step 1 Warming-up ( Name card)

Teacher puts a name card with an English name above and a Chinese name below on the big desk, then points to the name card and have an introduction.

T: This is my name card. I have a Chinese name ... And I have an English name ... You can call me Elaine. Step 2 Presentation

Work on 1a (完成1a,根据图片写出人物的名字,分男孩名和女孩名) 1. Teacher shows the picture on Page 1 by playing PPT.

Teacher:Today we will know some new friends. Do you know them?

2. Teacher points to the persons and says one of the names and students repeat it,. 3. Then students write it below Boy’s or Girl’s faces in the book. Finish 4a.

T: Now open your books and turn to PageS4. Write down the children’s names below their faces. (提醒学生注意名字的第一个字母应大写。) 4. Check their answers. E.g. T: Li Lei.

S: Yes.(示意学生起立回答问题)

T: Is Frank a boy’s name or a girl’s name? S: A boy’s name.

T: Right. You can get the English name, Frank. Sit down, please. S: Thank you.

5. Put the names in the correct alphabetical order.

T: Write the names in the alphabetical order in the list. Step 3: Present the rules. 1. Play a reading game.

Teacher: Yesterday we learned the English letters A to H. Now let’s play a game. I’ll show some words on the blackboard. Please try to spell the words as quickly as possible. Let’s see which group will be the first. (The student in different groups spell the words one by one as quickly as they can. The group which finishes spelling will be the winner of the games.)

Teacher: thank you for your good job.According to the form we can find different letters can be made into different words. Do you want to know how to read them? Now let’s listen to the tape and repeat. 3. Work on 4c . Find out the rules of the pronunciation.

A. Ask Students to read aloud the words on the left. Make sure they know the distinction between different pronunciations of the same letter.

B. Ask Students to try to read the new words on the right. Teacher moves around the classroom and helps students if necessary.

C. Check their pronunciations.

Teacher: According to the tape, we can find the letters A and E play an important part in the pronunciation. They are called vowels. Now look at their forms, can you find out some rules about them?

A: We can find “A” has two pronunciations. One is the sound of the letter“A”. The other is the sound like that in the word “apple”.

B:“E” also has two pronunciations. One is [i:], and the other is [e]. T:Yes, that’s right. Step 4: Practice. 1. Read the words.

Teacher: Since you know the rules about the pronunciation, can you read the words below? Now you can read the words to your partners. 2. Help them find their friends.

Teacher: Here are some apples and mangoes.They can’t find their friends. Can you help them? Students: Yes. Aa Ee face, age, cake, game, bake Had, dad, cat, He, Chinese, Bed, egg, get, bag,fat eve desk, hell Homework Think out other rules about pronunciations. Copy the letters A-H.
