In the feudal society, yellow stands for the ruler's power and authority. At that time,yellow was specially designed for the emperor, with the royal palace painted yellow and the imperial robealways being yellow while the ordinary people were never being permitted to wear yellow. In China, yellow is also the symbol of harvest. When crops are ripening in the fall, farmers celebrate the harvest in high spirits,with the fields taldng on a vast expanse of golden appearance.
