New York is 3 hours ahead of California, but it does not make California slow, or that New York is fast. Both are working based on their own “ Time Zone”(时区).Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before finding a good job! And there is another who graduated at 27 and got hired immediately!

Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50.While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years.

Someone is still single, while someone else got married and waited 10 years having a child. There is another who had a baby within a year of marriage. Obama retires(退休) at 55, but Trump starts at 70.

Absolutely everyone in this world works based on their Time Zone. People can have things worked out only according to their pace.

People around you might seem to go ahead of you; some might seem to be behind you. But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.

Don't envy them or laugh at them. They are in their TIME ZONE, and you are in yours! Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself .Fight in your time zone.

So, RELAX. You're not LATE. You're not EARLY. You are very much ON TIME , and in your time zone destiny set up for you.

New York is 3 hours ahead of California,纽约比加州早3个小时,可知当纽约是8点时加州应是8—3=5,所以加州应是5点,故答案选B。

A根据Someone is still single, while someone else got married and waited

10 years having a child. There is another who had a baby within a year of marriage. Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself .Fight in your time zone. C根据Obama retires(退休) at 55, but Trump starts at 70. Life is about waiting for the right moment to act.

People around you might seem to go ahead of you; some might seem to be behind you. Don't envy them or laugh at them.

Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself .Fight in your time zone.

That cold January night, I was growing sick of my life in San Francisco. There I was, walking home at one in the morning after a tiring practice at the theatre. With opening night only a week away, I was still learning my lines. I was having trouble dealing with my part-time job at the bank and my acting at night at the same time. As I walked, I thought seriously about giving up both acting and San Francisco. City life had become too much for me.

As I walked down empty streets under tall buildings, I felt very small and cold. I began running, both to keep warm and to keep away from any possible robbers (抢劫犯). Very few people were still out except a few sad-looking homeless people under blankets.

About a block from my apartment (公寓房间), I heard a sound behind me. I turned quickly, half expecting to see someone with a knife or a gun. The street was empty. All I saw was a shining

street-light. Still, the noise had made me nervous, so I started to run faster. Not until I reached my apartment building and unlocked the door did I realize what the noise had been. It had been my wallet falling to the street.

Suddenly I wasn't cold or tired any more, and I ran out of the door and back to where I'd heard the noise. Although I searched the street anxiously for fifteen minutes, my wallet was nowhere to be found.

Just as I was about to give up the search, I heard the garbage truck (垃圾车) pull up to the street next to me. When a voice called from the inside, \Camacho?\I thought I was dreaming. How could this man know my name? The door opened, and out jumped a small red-haired man with an amused look in his eyes.

\

It was nearly 3 a.m. by the time I got into bed. I wouldn't get much sleep that night, but I had got my wallet back. I also had got back some enjoyment of city life. I realized that the city couldn't be a bad place as long as people were willing to help each other. (1)How did the writer feel when she was walking home after work? A. Cold and sick. B. Fortunate and helpful. C. Disappointed and helpless. D. Satisfied and cheerful.

(2)From the first paragraph, we learn that the writer was busy _________. A. solving her problem at the bank B. preparing for the first night show C. learning acting in an evening school D. taking part in various city activities (3)On her way home the writer __________.

A. lost her wallet unknowingly B. was stopped by a garbage truck driver C. was robbed of her wallet by an armed man D. found some homeless people following her (4)In the fifth paragraph, why did the writer say she was dreaming? A. Someone offered to take her back home. B. A red-haired man came to see her. C. Her wallet was found in a garbage truck. D. She heard someone call her name. (5)From the text, we can infer that the writer _________.

A. would stop working at night B. would give up her job at the bank C. would stay on in San Francisco D. would make friends with cleaners 【答案】(1)C (2)B (3)A (4)D (5)C
