Everybody in the world has one name at least. And to each person his name is important because it is what he is known by.
Remember how you don't like it if people fail to remember your name, or pronounce it wrong? Remember how you like seeing your own name printed in the newspaper or even on the blackboard at school? That's because it is your own name and you are represented by it.
Of course, names aren't important themselves. But they are useful in our life. You don't have to go around shouting, \means \\
Now first names are all we need when we're at home. For it is unlikely that sisters or brothers have the same first name. But it's different when you go out.
