Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?

Section A (1a-2c) 一、教学目标: 1. 知识目标:

1) 掌握重点单词:panda, tiger, elephant, lion, koala, giraffe, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind, Australia 2) 掌握重点短语:kind of, South Africa 3)掌握重点句型: ① Let’s see…first.

② ---Why do/don’t you like...? ---Because they are... ③ ---Where are ...from? ---They are from... 2. 能力目标:

① 学会使用let’s祈使句、why引导的特殊疑问句及because引导的状语从句。 ② 运用英语来谈论、描述动物,会熟练运用形容词描述性质、品质,表达自己对动物的喜爱。

3. 情感目标:

通过合作学习让学生了解同学对于动物的喜好,增进友谊;让学生认识动物,培养学生爱护动物,热爱大自然的意识。 二、教学重难点 1. 教学重点:

1) 动物的名称和描述动物特点的形容词; 2) why引导的特殊疑问词及简要回答。 2. 教学难点:

1) 学会运用描述性形容词对动物进行描述; 2) 用why提问原因,用because来表达理由; 3) 名词的复数形式表示一类事物;第三人称单数形式。 三、教学准备

Step1. Warming-up and lead in:

Enjoy an English song“Old Macdonald had a farm”, then talk about something of the animals students know. Step2. Presentation:

Task1:Learn the new words and finfish1a 1.A guessing game: 2. Read the new words.

Task2: Match the words with the animals in the picture.
