在英语中，强调句是一种修辞手法，是为了表达说话者的意愿或情感倾向而使用的一种表达形式。根据所强调的对象不同，强调句分为成分强调和全句强调1.成分强调
成分强调就是对句子的某个成分进行强调。
英语中的句子成分包括主语、谓语、宾语、表语、定语、状语、补语（简称：主、谓、宾、表、定、状、补）和同位语、插入语。
按照语言习惯，英语中可进行强调的句子的成分只有主语、谓语、宾语、状语（简称：主、谓、宾、状）
1）. 强调谓语（助动词do/does/did + 动词原形）
英语中，谓语动词只有两种时态能强调，即一般现在时和一般过去时。强调时只需在谓语动词前加助动词“do”，而谓语动词使用原形。由于在一般现在时中，谓语动词有人称的变化，故单三人称时须用does，而谓语动词是一般过去时，do 须变成did。即：谓语动词为一般现在时且为非单三人称时直接在谓语动词前加“do”；谓语动词为一般现在时且为单三人称时直接在谓语动词前加“does”,而谓语动词使用原形；谓语动词为一般过去式时直接在谓语动词前加“did”，谓语动词也使用原形。其他时态的谓语强调一般只通过重读谓语动词而不通过词语形式来体现。
如：Come early. 早点来。（谓语动词为一般现在时且为非单三人称）
→Do come early. 一定早点来。（直接在谓语动词前加“do”）I work hard. 我工作很努力
→ I do work hard. 我确实工作很努力（我真的工作很努力）Come in. 进来（请进）。→ Do come in. 快进来（快请进）。
she likes you. 他喜欢你
→ she does like you.她真的喜欢你(她确实喜欢你)She loves you. 她爱你
→ She does love you. 她真的爱你(她确实爱你)My father smokes a lot. 我爸爸烟瘾很大
→ My father does smoke a lot. 我爸爸确实烟瘾很大（我爸爸真的烟瘾很大）I called you in this morning.今早他叫你了
I did call you in this morning.今早他真的叫你了（今早他确实叫你了）He sent you a letter last week. 他上周给你寄了份信
He did send you a letter last week. 他上周的确给你寄了份信(他上周确实给你寄了份信/他上周真的给你寄了份信)
It is/was + 强调部分 + who/ that///
其实强调句和定语从句非常相近，强调句主要看它的结构形式；而定语从句则在从句中做成分,或做主语，或做宾语，或状语。
eg. I met an old friend in the street on that Sunday.
强调句可以强调 1）主语 2）宾语 3）地点、时间、其他状语1) It was I who met an old friend in the street on that Sunday.2)It was an old friend that I met in the street on that Sunday.3) It was in the street that I met an old friend on that Sunday.4) It was on that Sunday that I met an old friend in the street.
*强调主语时，指的是人时，不用that,而用who。其他全用that.**It is/was ...that ... 去掉时，原来的句子能回去。 It was at eight that we arrived.It was eight o'clock when we arrived.=we arrived at 8.
这两个句子其实是完全不一样的。
前者是强调句；后者则是定语从句。把It was...that去掉 能不能回去是关键。(2) Is/was it + 被强调部分 + that (who) ...例：Was it your brother that you met in the street?在街上你遇见的是你兄弟吗？
(3) Where/who/what/how等特殊疑问词 + is/was it that ...eg：How is it that you will go to visit her tomorrow?I wonder who it is that will attend the party.（宾语语序）Who is it that will attend the party? （句首语序）
I wonder how it is that you will go to visit her tomorrow.(宾语语序）How is it that you will go to visit her tomorrow?（句首语序）
It was they who helped the old man last week.It was the old man that they helped last week.It was not until midnight that they went home.
下列是典型的强调句句式：

注意：强调部分为：each time; last night/week//year/month; this day/that day; yesterday +that...EXs:
