BACKGROUND
[0003]
Parenteraldeliveryofvariousdrugs,i.e.,deliverybymeansotherthanthroughthedigestivetrack,hasbecomeadesired
methodofdrugdeliveryforvariousreasons.Bypassingthedigestivesystemofthepatientcanavoiddegradationoftheactiveingredientscausedbythecatalyticenzymesinthedigestivetractandliverandensurethatanecessaryamountofadrug,atadesiredconcentration,reachesthetargetedsite.Furthermore,growthintreatmentsinvolvingbiologies,whicharetypicallyinjectedin
liquidform,hasincreasedtheprevalenceofparenteraldelivery.[0004]

Thesetasksconventionallyhavebeenperformedmanually.Insomesituations,itmaybenecessaryorconvenientforthepatienttoself-administertheinjectabledrug.Inthecaseofasyringe,self-administrationrequiresthepatienttomanuallyinserttheneedleinto

[0005]
Toassistwiththeself-administrationofaninjectabledrug,variousautomateddrugdeliverydeviceshavebeendeveloped.
