Unit 1 Can you play the guitar?

一、单元分析

本单元围绕“Abilities”开展教学活动,学习情态动词can的肯定句、否定句、特殊疑问句、一般疑问句及其肯定和否定回答,还有what引导的特殊疑问句。要求学生使用情态动词can谈论自己在某一方面所具有的能力,谈论自己的喜好与意愿。

本单元的核心语言项目是“Ask and answer questions about abilities”以及“Talk about likes and dislikes”,主要话题是“Join a club”。采访同学们对现有课外小组活动的看法,成立同学们自己喜爱的各种俱乐部,学习并制作海报和撰写招聘广告等。

二、教学目标 1.语言技能目标

(1)能对自己所具有的能力进行表述,如:I can dance. I can't sing. (2)能询问别人所具有的能力,如:What can you do? Can you dance?

(3)能采访同学的特长与爱好,并征询他们有意参加什么俱乐部,如:What club do you want to join?

2.语言知识目标

(1)正确运用what引导的特殊疑问句,含情态动词can的肯定句、否定句、特殊疑问句、一般疑问句及其肯定和否定回答;

(2)掌握一些课外活动、乐器和社团的名称,如:dance, swim, sing, chess, paint, guitar, piano, drums, violin, art club, music club, etc.

(3)正确使用表达喜好的句型,如:Do you like...? I like...I don't like... (4)正确运用招聘广告所需要的句型,如:Come and join us! Then you can be...Please call Bill at 790-4230.

3.情感态度目标

(1)本单元根据学生的年龄特点和兴趣爱好,提出了开展各种课外活动的话题,有助于学生增长知识、开阔视野、展现才能;

(2)通过让学生谈论自己在某方面所具有的才能,培养学生的自信心,鼓励他们积极进取,

获得成功。

4.文化意识目标

(1)了解本校主要的课外活动和各种社会实践团体活动; (2)了解同学的喜好、才能以及对课外活动的看法。 5.学习策略目标

(1)认知策略:通过略读技巧,鼓励学生掌握一定的阅读技能,拓宽知识面; (2)交际策略:通过采访,将英语教学与生活实际有机地结合起来,鼓励学生在“做中学”。

三、重点难点 1.教学重点

(1)重点词汇:join, dance, swim, sing, chess, speak, piano, club, tell, story, write, talk, or, show, draw, guitar, drum, violin, also, people, home, make, center, weekend, teach, musician;

(2)重点句型:

①can的肯定句、否定句、特殊疑问句、一般疑问句及其肯定和否定回答; ②用what引导的特殊疑问句,如:What club do you want to join?

③询问别人的能力和爱好,如:-What can you do? -I can do Chinese kung fu. (3)话题:用“Can you...? Can he...? Can she...? What can you do?”等谈论同学的才能和爱好。

2.教学难点

(1)掌握情态动词can的各种句型;

(2)正确使用带有what的特殊疑问句并作出回答; (3)学会如何招聘与应聘。

Period 1(Section A 1a-2c)

1.Can you play the guitar?你会弹吉他吗?(课本第1页)

play the guitar意为“弹吉他”。play后接乐器类名词时,意为“弹;演奏”,且名词前加定冠词the;但play后接棋类、球类时,名词前不加任何修饰词。如:

①I can play the piano.我会弹钢琴。

②Do you want to play volleyball?你想打排球吗?

2.I want to join the art club.我想参加美术社团。(课本第1页) (1)want to do sth.意为“想要做某事”。如:

I want to go to the park next Sunday.我想下周日去公园。 【拓展】want的其他用法:

(1)want sth.意为“想要某物”。如: I want a new sweater.我想要一件新毛衣。

(2)want sb.to do sth.意为“想要某人做某事”。如:

He wants Linda to answer the question.他想让琳达回答这个问题。

(2)join及物动词,意为“参加;加入”,指加入某一社团或组织,并成为其中的一员。如:

Do you want to join the English club?你想加入英语社团吗? join the Party/the League/the army入党/入团/参军

【拓展】(1)join sb.意为“加入某(些)人中,和某(些)人共同做某事”。如: Come and join us.来加入我们吧。

(2)join in(sth./doing sth.)意为“参加(娱乐、竞赛、谈话等)”。如: Can I join in the game?我能参加这个游戏吗?

(3)join(with) sb.in doing sth.与join(with) sb.to do sth.同义,意为“与某人一起参加某活动”。如:

Tom can join(with) me in cleaning the classroom. =Tom can join(with) me to clean the classroom. 汤姆会和我一起打扫教室。,
