What aspects should we pay attention to when doing business with other people? ? How should we make business telephone calls? ? Are there any manner taboos in doing business with people? 聚焦有关常用表达,引出本单元学习目标。 B. 以Brain Storming的形式让学生讨论 “job- hunting” a)小组讨论: ? What should you say when you receive a telephone call from other company? ? How to show your friendliness to other companies? b) 教师引导学生回答问题。 二.热身练习 教师随机提问学生: 导出下一部分的练习。 A. What would you say in the following situations? a) When you are talking about telephone manners with other people. ? How should I work on telephone manners? ? Telephone manner is very important for the image of our company. ? We should always remember to be polite when answering a phone call. ? Don’t have food when talking on the phone; don’t forget to say goodbye and wait for the caller to hang up. b) When you are talking about dressing codes with other people. ? What are the principles for dressing? ? First, it should fit well, be suited to the occasion, also be comfortable and elegant. ? For an individual, elegant dressing can convey elegance and connotations. It also shows one’s respect for others. c) When you give the guest some gifts. ? To commemorate our friendship and to express our good wishes toward the cooperation with you, we would like to give you a gift. ? Thank you again for your gift and I feel so gratitude for your kindness. ? I’m glad you like it. And I believe our cooperation will be very successful. 学生朗读强记有关“商务礼仪”的常用表达句型,老师要求学生利用这些常用表达以小组活动的形式,口头编写对话并操练。 三、课堂活动 Task 2 要求学生听录音、分角色朗读对话。在播放录音之前,提出以下问题,引导学生特别留意“参加家庭晚宴”注意事项的表达: ? Proper etiquette is essential for making a favorable impression at dinner interviews as well as in business situation. ? Never be early, nor should you be more than 20 minutes late. ? Hold the knife in your right hand, and the fork in your left hand. When you finish, lay your knife and fork on your plate, but don’t cross them. 补充 “就餐礼仪”的相关知识 ? Sit up straight and chew quietly. ? Tuck the meat into your cheek with your tongue and speak briefly if you feel you must speak immediately and if you have only a relatively small bite. ? Keep bites small. It is smart to keep bite sizes to a moderate forkful. ? Eat at a leisurely pace. ? Keep your elbows off the table. ? Compliment the Cook. Even if the food is perfectly awful say something nice. ? Wipe your mouth before drinking. ? Excuse yourself when leaving the table. Task 3 把对话中重点的知识点以这种形式导出,然后进行讲解。 A. 听前预测。教师引导学生朗读生词,告知学生这是一个关于求职者与面试官之间的对话。要求学生在听播音前提前阅读段落,通过已知的内容预测对话大体内容和空格所填词的词性或词组搭配,以提高学生的英语预测能力。 B. 播放录音,提醒学生注意有关“电话礼仪”常用表达: ? Telephone manner is very important for the image of our company. ? Pay attention to the way you speak to clients. Always remember to be polite when answering a phone call. ? Here are some tips: pick up the phone in the first three rings; don’t have food when talking on the phone; don’t forget to say goodbye and wait for the caller to hang up. 补充: 公司之间接打电话时还应当报出公司或部门名称,如“This is ABC company./This is marketing department.” C. 听中确定正确的答案。 D. 听后核对答案。 Task 4 A. 教师引导学生朗读生词。 B. 教师播放录音,引导学生选择正确的答案。 C. 师生核对答案。 D. 引导学生特别留意以下常用表达: I will think about your proposal about establishing business relationship and contact you soon.我会考虑你关于建立业务关系的建议,并尽快联系你。 ? establish 建立;确立 e.g. We have established trade ties with these regions. 我们和这些地区建立了贸易关系。 e.g. The company was established in 1860. 这家公司创办于一八六零年。 ? contact 联系 e.g. I’ll contact you by telephone.我将用电话和你联系。 e.g. We agreed to contact again as soon as possible.我们同意尽快再次联系。 Task 5 A. 教师引导学生朗读生词。 B. 教师要求学生阅读所提供的问题,引导学生预测对话的梗概内容,推测空格处应填写词的词性。 C. 教师播放录音,要求学生在听的过程中,结合问题进行简单记录。 D. 提供以下几个问题,以检验学生是否可以回忆起所听的细节。问题如下: ? What gifts should be avoided in China? (Clock.) ? What’s the best advice? (When in Rome do as the Romans do.) E. 师生核对答案。 F. 要求学生会说会用以下重点表达: ? transferred into 转移 e.g. The exhibition was transferred to another city two days later.两天后,这个展会转移到另外一个城市。 e.g. The sum of money has been transferred into my account. 那笔钱已转到我账上 ? apply 应用 e.g. We should know how to apply the theory to practice.我们要知道怎样把理论应用于实践。 e.g. The new discovery may be applied in medicine. 这个新发现可以应用在医学上。 Task 6 A. 本题的3 个会话是本单元的主题对话。引导学生读懂对话前括弧中会话的情景。让学生先听,后跟读。 B. 学生听录音之前,对学生进行提问,以示强调: a) Which department is William Lee from? b) Why is this dinner party held? c) What gift does Li Lin give to Mr. Johnson? 让学生听conversation,回答问题。 Answer: a) He is from Sales Department. b) It is being held for the cooperation of two companies. c) A bottle of Maotai, C. 要求学生会说会用以下重点表达: ? right away 立刻;马上 e.g. You must give up smoking and drinking right away.你必须立刻戒烟酒。 e.g. We will send someone up to look at it right away.我们将马上找人看着。 ? toast n. 祝酒 e.g. I propose a toast to the health of the guests.我提议为来宾的健康干一杯。 e.g. Let’s toast the friendship between two countries.让我们为两国间的友谊干杯。 ? hospitality n. 款待;好客 e.g. I received the hospitality of the family.我受到这家人亲切的款待。 e.g. I’d like to thank you for your hospitality.非常感谢你们的热情款待。 D. 分角色朗读对话 E. Role play. Task 7 把本单元主题的重点知识点以这种形式导出,然后进行讲解。 A. 听前预测。教师引导学生朗读表格中的英文表达,通过对话已知的内容预测对话情景和对话内容。 B. 听中确定正确的答案。 C. 听后核对答案。 D. Role play. Task 8 本试题主要是培养学生的口译能力。 A. 学生分组,小组讨论句子所需的重点搭配,句型。 B. 小组活动,一人读出试题,一人口译;反过来转换任务。
