PURPOSE:To improve gradation of a highlight and to prevent non-discharge of ink by increasing the ink discharge amount of a recording head for discharging ink having high dye
concentration over that of a recording head for discharging ink having low dye concentration.
CONSTITUTION:Recording heads (1A - 1D) are placed in parallel on a carriage 2, recording heads 1A, 1B discharge inks of cyan colors having different dye
concentrations, a recording head 1C discharge ink of magenta color, and a recording head 1D discharges ink of yellow color. For example, in order to improve gradation of the cyan, the dye concentration of the cyan ink to be
supplied to the head 1A is set to 5%, the dye concentration of the cyan ink to be supplied to the head 1B is set to 1.5%, and a discharge port 15 of a record ing head 1A for discharging concentrated ink is made larger than a discharge port 16 of the head 1B for pale ink.
