PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform

transferred image, by a method wherein a thermal transfer recording paper in which at least the surface brought into contact with an ink layer is coated or impregnated with the same low melting point material as that used in the ink layer or the like is provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:The recording paper 4 was laminated on a thermal transfer recording ink sheet 3 so that the side of the paper 4 coated with a low melting point material makes contact with the ink layer 2 of the sheet, then the paper 4 is pressed by a roller 5, and solid transferring is conducted by impressing an electric power of 7.8W/mm.<2> while varying the pulse width in the range of 1.4- 4ms, whereby a shaded image with a transfer density (O, D) varied in the range of 1.2-0.2 was obtained.
