一、课程性质与任务
环境质量及评价是关于环境质量现状和环境质量变异影响评价的理论、方法及其应用技术的科学，它是环境科学的一个重要分支学科。由于环境污染和生态破坏日益严重，环境评价已经具有新的内涵。环境评价已经成为当今广大环境科学工作者认识环境、保护环境、建设环境的重要科学工作。环境评价是高等院校环境类专业的主干专业课程之一，也是环境专业毕业生就业的一个很有发展前景的工作领域。本课程的目的是使学生了解我国环境影响评价制度和相关法律法规、环境标准分类方法、环境影响的识别、预测和评价技术，具有编制环境影响评价报告文件的能力。
二、课程教学的基本要求
环境质量及评价课程主要介绍环境评价的基本概念，环境评价标准，环境评价的程序及技术，包括环境要素的环境质量现状评价，污染源评价，建设项目对环境要素影响的预测与评价技术等。
环境质量及评价课程设计属于环境质量及评价课程的实践环节，通过对给定材料或者自选材料的综合分析，针对其中的主要环境要素进行环境质量评价，极大限度地提高学生的环境质量现状分析能力，强化学生充分利用相关的理论方法对现有环境质量进行评价，使学生掌握编写环境质量评价报告书或报告表的基本方法。会简单开展建设项目环境影响评价的实际工作。
