并列连词 and 意义及用法 “和”，表并列或顺承关系。 例句 John，work hard and you will make much progress.约翰，努力学习，你就会取得很大的进步。 I'd love to go shopping but I'm afraid I have no time.我很想去购物，但是恐怕我没有时间。 Both you and she are right. 你和她都是对的。 Not only you but also every-one here likes watching foot-ball match.不仅你而且这里的每个人都喜欢观看足球比赛。 Either he or I am right.或者他或者我是对的。 Neither the twins nor Li Lei has been to Shanghai.这对双胞胎和李雷都没去过上海。 but “但是”，表转折关系。 both… and… 两者都。 not only… but also… either… or… neither… nor… 不但…… 而且…… 或者…… 或者…… 既不…… 也不…… 注意：(1)neither…nor，either…or，not only…but also连接两个成分作主语时，谓语动词要和最近的主语保持一致，即就近原则；both…and连接两个成分作主语时，谓语动词只能用复数。(2)连接两个句子时，neither，not only后面的句子要用倒装句。如：Not only did he speak more correctly，but he spoke more easily.他不仅说得正确，而且很容易。

五、引导目的状语、结果状语的从属连词
从属连词 so that/in order that 含义 用法 例句 They hurried so that they can get there on time.他们加快了速度，为的是能够按时到达那里。 She is so tired that she can't go any further.她太累了，不能再走了。 It's such a fine day that many people go to the park for fun.天气这么好，好多人到公园来玩。 以便于 引导目的状语从句 so…that 如此……以至于 引导结果状语从句。so后侧重强调形容词或副词 such… that… 如此 …… 以至 …… 引导结果状语从句。such后强调名词 注意：不能同时出现在一个句子中的连词
(1)because与so这两个连词不能同时在一个句子里使用，只能用其一。如：Because Jone was ill，I took him to the doctor.＝Jone was ill，so I took him to the doctor.
(2)(al)though与but这两个连词也不能用在同一个句子中。但though与yet，still可以同时出现在一个句子里(yet和still作副词用)。如：Although he is old，he still works hard.＝He is old，but he still works hard.
