Teaching procedures: Step 1. Lead in
Have a free talk with students about their favorite person and things. Encourage them to speak as much as possible.
Step 2. Presentation
1. Show the topic of this class--season.
2. Show ss a tree with green leaves and many flowers, and ask ss what season it is. Then teach the word :spring.
3. Talk about spring. It’s warm. We can have a picnic in the open air. 4. Use the same way to teach the other words: summer, autumn,winter. 5. Let the ss read the words one by one. 6. Play a game : what’s missing’
7. Guess which season it is according to the poems. 8. Learn the new sentences (1) --What’s your favorite season? = Which season do you like best? --Spring. I can have a picnic in the open air.
(2) Listen to the tape and read the sentences.
Step 3. Group work
Get in group of four, talk about your favorite season, and make a report. Q: Which season do you like best? Why?
Step 4. Summary
