Grammar

I. Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1. grasp the basic structures of the passive voice in the simple future tense and know the usage of it;

2. understand how to change the structure between the two voices.

II. Teaching contents

New words and phrases: pollute, living, poster, display, harm, clean up; New structures: You will be punished if you cut down a tree.

These bottles will be recycled to make new things. I will be/am going to be supported.

You/We/They will be/are going to be supported. He/She/It will be/is going to be supported.

III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty

1. To learn the structure of the passive voice in the simple future tense; 2. To use the passive voice in the simple future tense correctly.

IV. Teaching procedures Step 1 Lead-in

1. Enjoy proverbs with the passive voice in the simple future tense.

A friend without faults will never be found. 世界上没有十全十美的朋友。 Time past will not be called back again. 时间一去不复返。 As you salute, you will be saluted. 敬人者,人敬之。 2. Translate the three proverbs.

3. Learn about the passive voice in the simple future tense. 4. Find similar sentences with the same passive voice. 5. Present the passive voice in the simple future tense.

Step 2 Discovering 1. Discover the rule.

Ask the students to read the sentences on the screen to discover the rule.

2. Discover the general usages.

Get the students to work in pairs to discover the general usages of the passive voice in the simple future tense. 3. Work out the rule.

(1) Help the students work out the rule of the passive voice in the simple future tense.

(2) Present different sentence structures of the passive voice in the simple future tense and help the students understand the voice better.

【设计意图:采用归纳教学法,让学生自己发现语法规则更符合他们现有的心智,也便于记忆与运用。】

Step 3 Explaining

1. Explain the usage of the passive voice in the simple future tense. 2. Present some examples of the passive voice in the simple future tense.

【设计意图:直接阐明一般将来时被动语态的用法,为下面的交流展示环节做铺垫。】

Step 4 Practice 1. Make sentences.

Ask the students to watch the pictures and make sentences. A super stadium will be/is going to be built. A lot of trees will be/are going to be planted. 2. Complete Part A on page 112. 3. Change sentences.

(1) Get the students to put Sentences 1-2 into the passive voice and Sentences 3-4 into the

active voice.

(2) Get the students to put the four sentences into negative, general questions and make

responses. 4. Translate sentences.

Ask the students to translate sentences, using the passive voice in the simple future tense: The new film will be/is going to be put on/shown next Thursday.

The question/problem will be/is going to be discussed at the meeting tomorrow. If we break the rule, we will be punished. 5. Complete Part B on page 113. 6. Complete Part C on page 114.

Step 5 Production 1. Make a dialogue.

Ask the students to choose one of the topics and make a dialogue in pairs.

2. Make a speech.

Encourage the students to say something about what plans will be made to make the school better.

Step 6 Feedback

Get the students to do some feedback exercises.

Compare the active voice with the passive voice in the simple future tense. 【设计意图:帮助学生弄清楚一般将来时主动语态与被动语态的区别。】
