1. Enlarge students’ vocabulary

2. Let students know some English words borrowed from other languages and some idioms. 3. Learn about some different cultures.

2学情分析

Most of the students are interested in the foreign cultures. This class will help the students broaden their horizons and know more about the borrowed words as well as the reasons.

3重点难点

Remember these words and idioms and try to use them freely. Make the Ss know more about culture.

设计意图:通过一段视频,引入借用的英语单词。 活动2【讲授】 Word learning

设计意图:通过Task 1让学生初步了解英语借用了哪些其他语言的词,通过Task 2让学生进一步了解英语从其他语言中借用了哪些类型的词, 通过Task 3让学生更多的了解英语借用的词的具体例子来理解所借用的词的类型;通过三个任务帮助学生了解什么样的词来自什么语言被英语借用了;为后面的任务奠定了基础。 活动3【练习】Practice

Task 1 Competition Guess which language the words come from.

Task 2 Finish Part C on P39 English has borrowed lots of words from other languages. Four of the languages that English has borrowed words from are French, (1) __German__, Italian, and Arabic. Words taken from the French language include words for (2) __food__ and eating such as (3)___restaurant__, words for (4)__jobs_ such as dentist and words for entertainment such as ballet.
